7 Competencies management in an SME: a lever for greater productivity

Abstract
In such a competitive marketcompetitive market, in which we are integrated, it is important to create sustainable bases for companies to achieve their goals. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor employee performance and developdevelop their skillsskills to provide the company with talenttalent suited to the roles in order to achieve the levels of success desired by the organization. This chapter presents methods, techniques, and instruments used for competency planning in a private small or medium-sized enterpriseSME.
The main objective of this chapter is to verify to what extent the planning and consequent preparation of competency managementcompetency management contribute to the good functioning of a small or medium-sized company. As well as verifying the influence that this planning will focus on acquiring and developing skillsskills for each employee, to gradually increase their satisfaction and motivation in performing their role. Therefore, the better the planning of skillsskills, the greater the chance for the company to succeed, and the better the performance and use of each person’s capabilitiescapabilities. The company’s production and its resulting success depend on the development of these same skills.
A quantitative approach research was carried out. A scale questionnaire was used as the research instrument. The research has shown that skillsskills managementskills management in this company is well implemented, which translates into satisfaction for the majority of workers! In addition, the employeesemployees presented a development of skills derived from trainingtraining actions and lectures according to the needs of each role. What is essential for a good level of work and cooperation to improve performance in order to make the company grow in the market. The main reasons for this success come from the way the leader deals with the problems presented by his employees and the way he helps them to become increasingly competent and capable.
