This chapter is in the book Microbial Oxidative Enzymes

Abstract

Plant life is susceptible to both abiotic as well as biotic stress due to climate change, which seriously threatens their growth and productivity. Abiotic stresses like extreme temperatures, drought, and soil salinity can reduce plant growth and decrease crop yields. Both these types of stress can seriously impact the plants health and ultimately result in reduced crop yields. To mitigate these effects, plants must be provided with adequate nutrients and water to optimize their growth and increase their resistance to stress. Additionally, pest and disease control strategies must be implemented to reduce the incidence of disease, and crop rotation and other agronomic practices must be employed to reduce abiotic stress to create a healthy environment for the crop growth. Active management of pests and diseases is also essential to ensure healthy plant growth and optimal productivity.
