Abstract

This article is a study of the circles in which the Swede Jacob Serenius moved in London 1723-1735, how they reflect the customs and thinking of the time, and how they influenced his work as lexicographer, clergyman and politician. The primary source is the paratextual part of his dictionary from 1734.
