María Cantarero Muñoz
María Cantarero Muñoz holds a degree in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Granada. She completed a Master’s degree in Translation and Intercultural Mediation from the University of Salamanca. She also holds a PhD in Translation and Intercultural Mediation from the University of Salamanca. She has completed these studies with numerous courses and seminars in the field of translation and translation teaching, and collaborated in diverse teaching innovation projects. She has participated in several congresses on research in new trends in translation, as well as in specialized publications on culture and translation. She is currently working as an assistant professor in French translation at the University of Málaga. Her research, based on a broader and interdisciplinary conception of translation, focuses on the analysis of the different languages that make up digital texts and how they contribute to the dissemination of various ideologies. She also analyzes transcreation as an advertising translation technique, in which the boundaries of global — local and creation — translation dichotomies are blurred.
