Summary

Close quantitative similarity is observed between the kinetics of thermal annealing of chromium-51 in neutron irradiated, inactive-Cr(III)-doped potassium Chromate and in 51Cr(III)-doped potassium Chromate when both types of crystals have received similar levels of radiation damage. This similarity suggests that the same annealing mechanism might he operating in both kinds of crystals. Several possible oxidative annealing mechanisms for potassium Chromate are discussed.
