Abstract

Intelligent educational robots (IERs) offer a variety of pedagogical possibilities that can enhance the development of critical thinking in primary education students. By having to solve challenges, experiment, analyze results, and continually improve, students not only acquire technical skills but also develop cognitive skills critical for success in learning. While IER offer numerous opportunities for innovative learning and skill development, they also pose challenges that must be addressed effectively. Based on the analysis of the existing literature on proposals with IER, the possibilities of these to improve learning are described, and a proposal for activities is made that takes into account the potential of these robots and also the challenges posed by their use, managing to create meaningful and transformative educational experiences for students. However, it is critical to address the challenges associated with these initiatives, such as teacher training, curricular alignment, and ethical considerations, to ensure their long-term effectiveness and success. Through this exhaustive and critical analysis, and a coherent, effective, and ethically responsible proposal of activities, we seek to contribute to the growth and evolution of this interdisciplinary field, with the ultimate objective of improving the quality and impact of primary education in the world.
