Three different phases of bis(oxalato)platinate salts of bis(oxamide-oxime)platinum have been obtained by diffusion techniques and have been characterized by X-ray methods; α-phase: [Pt(C 2 O 4 ) 2 ][Pt(C 2 H 6 N 4 O 2 ) 2 ] · 2H 2 O, monoclinic P2 1 /n, a = 15.073(13), b = 3.660(1), c = 16.759(14) Å , β = 96.03(4)°, V = 919 Å 3 , Z = 2; β-phase: [Pt(C 2 O 4 ) 2 ][Pt(C 2 H 6 N 4 O 2 ) 2 ] · nH 2 O, monoclinic P2 1 /n, a = 6.718(1), b = 18.885(4), c = 7.412(2) Å, β = 107.06(2)°, V = 930 Å 3 , Z = 2; γ-phase: [Pt(C 2 O 4 ) 2 ][Pt(C 2 H 6 N 4 O 2 ) 2 ] · 3H 2 O, orthorhombic Pnca, a = 13.694(3), b = 19.210(5), c = 15.225(5) Å, V = 4005 Å 3 , Z = 8. The α-phase contains segregated stacks of the planar cations and anions, the β- and γ-phases mixed stacks. The well-refined structure of the γ-phase is discussed in detail and compared with the gross structural features of the α- and β-phases.
