Objective
The Vienna Journal on International Constitutional Law (ICL Journal) is dedicated to the advancement of legal knowledge in the field of International Constitutional Law. Advised by a body of distinguished jurists the Journal publishes high-standard peer-reviewed contributions by scholars and legal professionals from around the globe.

Moreover, the Journal provides information on recent constitutional developments relevant to practitioners as well as academics, particularly by monitoring the case law of Constitutional Courts in Central and Eastern Europe.

The Vienna Journal on International Constitutional Law (ICL Journal) was founded in 2007.

- Once your article is accepted you have the option to publish it open access
- Our Repository Policy allows you to distribute 30 PDF copies of your published article to colleagues (the PDF has to include the information that it is an author's copy). Please also feel free to distribute the link to the online abstract

- The Journal welcomes the submission of unsolicited manuscripts. Submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis. However, we encourage authors to submit manuscripts as early as possible.
- The Journal's Editorial Board is convinced that the length of a contribution does not necessarily add to its quality. Thus the Journal strongly prefers articles under 80,000 characters in length including footnotes. The Journal will usually not publish articles exceeding 100,000 characters.
- We recommend not to include tables in your submission. If you would like to include a table, please contact the Editorial Board in advance.
- If you are interested in submitting a book review, please contact our Review Editor.
- For further questions please contact the Editorial Board.
- Authors are asked to edit their contributions according to the following formal requirements:
- Citations should be placed in footnotes and in accordance with the Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (Oscola Fourth Edition).
- Headings should be numbered according to the following scheme: 1, 1.1, 1.2, 1.2.1, 2 [...].
- Quotations should be put in single quotation marks(‘x’), and quotations within quotations should be put in double quotation marks(‘x ”y” x’) in text and footnotes.

Hybrid Open Access
In this journal, authors have the option to publish their article under an open access license. Open Access allows you as an author to retain copyright and share your findings with colleagues and interested parties worldwide without any restraints.
