Margaret R. Higonnet is Professor of English Emerita at the University of Connecticut. She is the editor of Nurses at the Front: Writing the Wounds of the Great War and Lines of Fire: Women Writers on World War I, among many other books.

Disciplinary borders and the recontextualization of fields are central to Borderwork’s project to bring feminist critical perspectives to bear on the field of comparative literature. The new feminist comparative literature articulated here has moved closer to its disciplinary younger cousin, cultural studies.
