Crystal structures of three CdI2 polytypes

Abstract
The crystal structures of three new polytypes, 12 H6, 14 H3 and 16 H5 of cadmium iodide have been determined. The structures are represented as (22111221), (11212322) and (12223222) in Zhdanov symbols. They all belong to the space group P3m1.
