Abstract
The rituals of the “Man of the Storm God” (LÚ DU) are subsumed in the CTH under the number 652. Among these rituals we can find a group of texts (KBo 22.236, KUB 48.10 with dupl. KBo 37.91, KUB 51.62, KUB 59.15, VBoT 55, perhaps also KUB 7.13 and other fragments) describing rituals practised by the “Man of the Storm God” and a deaf man (LÚÚ.HÚB). The purpose of these texts is a ritual purification of the king. Typical characteristics of the texts are the hattic incantations and the use of the plant kalwešna.
