The preparation of CH 3 SO 2 NBrCl and p-CH 3 C 6 H 4 NBrCl is described. These compounds react with (C 6 H 5 ) 4 Sn, (C 6 H 5 ) 4 Pb, and (C 6 H 5 ) 2 Hg to give derivatives CH 3 SO 2 N(C1)M(C 6 H 5 ) n-1 . In these reactions one phenyl group is cleaved from the metal.
