The aim of this paper is to provide some a priori estimates for a beam-like operator. Some applications and counterexamples are also given.

In this paper, we study the stabilization problem of a class of polynomial systems of odd degree in dimension three. The constructed stabilizing feedback is homogeneous and guarantee the homogeneity of the closed loop system.mynotered In the end of the paper, we show the efficiency of such a study in the local stabilization of nonlinear systems affine in control.

This paper signifies the beauty of fixed point theory in the context of attaining the sufficient condition for the existence of the solution of a non-linear functional-integral equation in an unbounded interval. Here a non-linear integral equation (NLIE) involving a fractional operator is taken in the form of an operator equation. Utilizing the perception of measure of noncompactness (MNC) along with certain relevant assumptions, it is proved that the operator equation satisfies the Darbo condition for the product of operators in a Banach algebra. Finally, the result obtained is verified by the assistance of the numerical example.

In this article, we prove the existence of a solution to a nonlocal biharmonic equation with nonlinearity depending on the gradient and the Laplacian. We employ an iterative technique based on the mountain pass theorem to prove our result.

In this paper, we consider the nonlinear viscoelastic equation u t ⁢ t - Δ ⁢ u + ∫ 0 t h ⁢ ( t - s ) ⁢ Δ ⁢ u ⁢ ( s ) ⁢ 𝑑 s + a ⁢ ( x ) ⁢ | u t | m ⁢ u t + | u | γ ⁢ u = 0 u_{tt}-\Delta u+\int_{0}^{t}h(t-s)\Delta u(s)\,ds+a(x)\lvert u_{t}\rvert^{m}u_% {t}+\lvert u\rvert^{\gamma}u=0 in a bounded domain with kernels not necessarily exponentially decaying to zero and we obtain an asymptotic stability result of global solutions.

The intention of this study is to investigate the fractal version of both one-term and three-term fractal differential equations. The fractal Laplace transform of the local derivative and the non-local fractal Caputo derivative is applied to investigate the given models. The analogues of both the Wright function with its related definitions in fractal calculus and the convolution theorem in fractal calculus are proposed. All results in this paper have been obtained by applying certain tools such as the general Wright and Mittag-Leffler functions of three parameters and the convolution theorem in the sense of the fractal calculus. Moreover, a comparative analysis is conducted by solving the governing equation in the senses of the standard version and fractal calculus. It is obvious that when α = γ = β = 1 {\alpha=\gamma=\beta=1} , we obtain the same results as in the standard version.

The present research paper deals with the effectiveness of the control of an infinite-dimensional degenerate Cauchy problem with variable operator coefficients, skew-Hermitian pencil and bounded input condition. This study explores the minimum energy control problem. The investigation follows a set of methods to examine the procedure for developing a new result to solve the problem. Indeed, by the use of decomposition transformation of the considered system and the application of the Gramian operator, the formula of the process for controlling the system with minimum energy is obtained. Afterwards, a procedure to compute the optimal input for minimizing the performance index is then proposed. In a nutshell, the obtained results indicate that optimal control for minimizing the performance index ensures the solution of the minimum energy control of an infinite-dimensional degenerate Cauchy problem.

Mathematical model to account for non-homogeneity of plate material is designed, keeping in mind all the physical aspects, and analyzed by applying quintic spline technique for the first time. This method has been applied earlier for other geometry of plates which shows its utility. Accuracy and versatility of the technique are established by comparing with the well-known existing results. Effect of quadratic thickness variation, an exponential variation of non-homogeneity in the radial direction, and variation in density; for the three different outer edge conditions namely clamped, simply supported and free have been computed using MATLAB for the first three modes of vibration. For all the three edge conditions, normalized transverse displacements for a specific plate have been presented which shows the shiftness of nodal radii with the effect of taperness.

The main goal of this study is the investigation of discontinuous boundary-value problems for second-order differential operators with symmetric transmission conditions. We introduce the new notion of weak functions for such type of discontinuous boundary-value problems and develop an operator-theoretic method for the investigation of the spectrum and completeness property of the weak eigenfunction systems. In particular, we define some self-adjoint compact operators in suitable Sobolev spaces such that the considered problem can be reduced to an operator-pencil equation. The main result of this paper is that the spectrum is discrete and the set of eigenfunctions forms a Riesz basis of the suitable Hilbert space.

In this paper, we introduce and investigate two new subclasses of analytic functions with bounded boundary and bounded radius rotations by using a certain p -valent operator which complies with the known Carlson–Shaffer operator for p = 1 {p=1} . Both of these operators are heavily explored and have various applications. We investigate some inclusions results and integral preserving properties. We also extend the Ruscheweyh and Sheil-Small convolution preserving properties in the context of these classes. We relate our finding with the existing known results found in the literature regarding this subject.

We introduce a relational generalized Meir–Keeler contraction and a relational generalized Meir–Keeler contraction with rational terms in non-complete relational b -metric like spaces in order to establish non-unique fixed point results for a discontinuous single-valued map. Also, we provide an illustrative example to demonstrate that a relational generalized Meir–Keeler contraction with rational terms in a relational b -metric like space admits discontinuity at the fixed point. Thereby, we provide a novel explanation via a binary relation to the question of the existence of a contractive map admitting a fixed point at the point of discontinuity. Finally, we give applications to solve an initial value problem and a non-linear matrix equation which demonstrate the usability and effectiveness of our results.

In this article, we give analysis for a structure-preserving finite difference scheme to the Cahn–Hilliard system coupled with elasticity in one space dimension. In the previous article [K. Shimura and S. Yoshikawa, Error estimate for structure-preserving finite difference schemes of the one-dimensional Cahn–Hilliard system coupled with viscoelasticity, Regularity and Asymptotic Analysis for Critical Cases of Partial Differential Equations, RIMS Kôkyûroku Bessatsu B82, Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences (RIMS), Kyoto 2020, 159–175], we studied the system coupled with viscoelasticity, where we proposed a conservative numerical scheme for the system which inherits the total energy conservation and momentum conservation laws, and showed the error estimate. However, the error estimate can not be applied to the system without viscosity, due to the fact that the proof relies on the viscous term. Here, we show the error estimate for the system without viscosity by proposing a new structure-preserving finite difference scheme for the system. In addition, we also give the proof of existence of solution for the scheme.

Multiobjective optimization is the optimization with several conflicting objective functions. However, it is generally tough to find an optimal solution that satisfies all objectives from a mathematical frame of reference. The main objective of this article is to present an improved proximal method involving quasi-distance for constrained multiobjective optimization problems under the locally Lipschitz condition of the cost function. An instigation to study the proximal method with quasi distances is due to its widespread applications of the quasi distances in computer theory. To study the convergence result, Fritz John’s necessary optimality condition for weak Pareto solution is used. The suitable conditions to guarantee that the cluster points of the generated sequences are Pareto–Clarke critical points are provided.
