The article under studies deals with the issue of the conversives structure and semantic characteristics in the models noun – verb, verb – noun, noun – adjective and adjective – noun . It consists of four stages. The first stage regards the main approaches to the phenomenon of conversion in line with system-structural, communicative-functional and cognitive paradigms, as well as elaborates the definitions, used in the work. The purpose of the second stage is to form the research material. By a continuous sample of three academic dictionaries New Webster’s Dictionary of the English Language (2009. 5th ed. London: Pearson education), Macmillian English Dictionary (2006. In M. Rundell (ed.), For advanced learners . London: Palgrave Macmillan) and Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English (2009. 5th ed. London: Pearson education), a total amount of 18,263 conversives was written out. To avoid repeating the conversives given in the dictionaries, we have developed a sample, in which every conversion pair occurred once. The total number of the studied conversives is 10,140 tokens, grouped into 5,070 conversion pairs. The third stage highlights the structural and semantic features of conversives in modern English. It describes the peculiarities of parts of speech and semantic transitions, as well as determines the conversives structural models and their modifications. In order to establish regular semantic changes, the conversion semantic models are singled out, quantitative characteristics of each model are established and the most productive transitions from the generative to the derivative are described. At the final stage, the results of the work are summarized and the prospects for further research are outlined. The obtained results will enrich the theory of nomination with the new systematized material of conversives, which are an integral part of natural languages, and the analysis of English language conversives will supplement the theoretical and methodological basis for further study of the phenomenon of conversion in other languages.

Scenic communication does not only appear in drama and theater, but also within specialized or professional communication. For this reason, a model of communication in drama and theater is first taken up here, which in turn is based on a simple model of linguistic or specialized communication. Following this, scenic communication in specialized communication is recorded and described using a few more or less prototypical examples. Three types are distinguished, which can be supplemented by further constellation.

The aim of the article is to observe how countries that have faced armed conflicts in the recent decades are perceived in a corpus of Czech, mostly journalism texts. We focus on eight countries where soldiers of the Czech Republic or the former Czechoslovak Republic have been deployed on the basis of a mandate after 1989 (Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Iraq, Kosovo, Kuwait, Mali, and Yugoslavia). The picture of each country is determined via a quantitative, corpus-based approach. First, a frequency analysis is conducted in an attempt to show whether texts tend to mention some conflict-affected countries more frequently than others. Second, a collocation analysis is carried out to identify the stereotypes associated with the studied countries. The results show very different perceptions of the states, ranging from those connected solely to warfare (Iraq, Afghanistan) to those that are nowadays mostly seen as holiday destinations (Croatia). Moreover, some countries do not seem to be paid much attention at all (Mali). The outcome of the research may be of use for journalists, political scholars, and geographers and provides the respective disciplines with a new methodological approach.

Der Artikel beschäftigt sich mit verschiedenen Typen von Verfasserverweisen in wissenschaftlichen Texten und ihrer formalen Realisierung in verschiedenen wissenschaftskulturellen Kontexten. Es wird zwischen Textverweisen, Methodikverweisen und Eristikverweisen unterschieden. Auf dieser Grundlage wird eine Korpusstudie mit deutschsprachigen Abschlussarbeiten auf Bachelor-, Master- und Promotionsniveau vorgenommen. Die Texte stammen jeweils zur Hälfte aus Deutschland und Österreich und zur Hälfte aus Polen. Es zeigt sich, dass die drei unterschiedenen Verweistypen mit klar unterscheidbaren sprachlichen Mustern korrelieren. Diese Muster liegen in den L1-Arbeiten über die Niveaus hinweg relativ konstant vor. Der L2-Sprachgebrauch nähert sich diesen Mustern mit steigendem Qualifikationsniveau an. Ein Vergleich mit polnischsprachigen Doktorarbeiten deutet zudem darauf hin, dass sich Abweichungen in der sprachlichen Realisierung von Verfasserverweisen teilweise auf den Einfluss der polnischen Sprache beziehungsweise Wissenschaftskultur zurückführen lassen.

Der vorliegende Beitrag widmet sich der Analyse der sprachlichen Darstellung der positiven Basisemotionen wie Interesse, Freude und Überraschung in der deutschen digitalen Kommunikation. Die Studie zielt nun ab, ein soziolinguistisches Experiment durchzuführen, um die Merkmale der sprachlichen Repräsentation der positiven Basisemotionen in der deutschen digitalen Kommunikation des dialogischen Charakters aufzudecken und die Ergebnisse der Untersuchung zu systematisieren. Der Beitrag berücksichtigt einige Hintergrundinformationen und Begriffe, die für die Studie relevant sind. Zunächst wird ein kurzer Überblick über verschiedene lexikalische Methoden gegeben, die dem Thema und den Zielen des soziolinguistischen Experiments, sprachwissenschaftlichen Studien und des Sprachkontakts entsprechen. Dann wird der theoretische Hintergrund zur digitalen Kommunikation veranschaulicht. Dabei werden die wichtigsten Merkmale der digitalen Kommunkation festgestellt. Nach einer kurzen Darstellung der Ergebnisse des soziolinguistischen Experiments werden die gesammelten Belege für die sprachliche Darstellung positiver Basisemotionen analysiert und zusammengefasst. Ein eigens erstellter Korpus besteht aus 500 SMS- und WhatsApp-Nachrichten. Die vorliegende Untersuchung zielt nun darauf ab, die Forschungen im Bereich der neueren detuschen digitalen Kommunikation zu erweitern. Die Ergebnisse dieser Studie können als zusätzliches Material für zukünftige Untersuchungen dienen, um nonverbale Sprachmittel wie Emoticons bzw. Emojis zu erforschen.
