The article presents an in-depth analysis of the formation of terminology in the professional language of the Internet in German and offers predictions about its future development, in line with the evolution of this area of knowledge. Drawing from a corpus of about 8,000 terms and term combinations, the authors explore the dynamics of German Internet terminology, propose a timeline for the emergence of these terms in relation to advancements in science and technology, and identify key methods of term formation along with their semantic characteristics. The primary source of expansion in German Internet terminology comes from Anglo-American borrowings, which, during their adaptation into German, have undergone structural and semantic assimilation. The main methods of term formation within the examined terminology are compounding (with a predominance of binary structures), derivation, and abbreviation. German Internet terminology is characterized by synonymy and polysemy, reflecting the dynamic nature of network technology development. A distinctive feature of this terminology is the formal redundancy in expressing a single concept, leading to the formation of synonymous sets. The uniqueness of the semantic paradigm of these terms lies in the extralinguistic factors that influence terminological synonymy, polysemy, and the broader system of structural relations in German Internet terminology.

This exploratory study addresses an object that has not been examined so far: (mostly) Russian-language advertising newspapers as an advertising medium in Germany. The study analytically examines characteristic – especially structural – features of hybrid (Russian and German) advertisements and thereby contributes to the research of one context area of life-worldly bilingualism of Russian speakers. Overall, the examined advertising newspapers show little professionalism – for obvious reasons, especially due to their communication background. Their prototypical feature consists of a colorful combination of both languages, Russian and German, and both writing systems, Cyrillic and Latin, which constitutes their advertisement style. It is not yet clear if and how these various manifestations of hybridity are used intentionally as an advertisement strategy or – with regard to the linguistic competences and needs of the target audience – simply serve as a means to ensure understanding of country-specific circumstances. The empirical data mostly suggests the latter.

Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird auf die prosodische Organisation von Rückversicherungsfragen als möglicher Genderindex in der männlichen Kommunikation im theoretischen Rahmen der interaktionalen Linguistik und der kontextsensitiven Analyse fokussiert. Der Artikel zeigt, wie sich die Rückversicherungssignale in der männlichen Kommunikation im Hinblick auf effort code voneinander unterscheiden, und demonstriert gleichzeitig, wie phonologische Merkmale von Tags zur Erkennung von Positionierungen in Verbindung mit geschlechtsbezogenen Merkmalen beitragen können. Auf Basis eines Korpus gesprochener Face-to-Face-Kommunikation, das in Männergruppen österreichischer Studenten und Handwerker erhoben wurde, beschreibt diese Studie verschiedene Verwendungen und Funktionen der deutschen Rückversicherungssignale ( oder, oder was, nit, wasch (eh), ge etc.) und berücksichtigt dabei Parameter wie Tonhöhenbereich, Intensität, Nuklearität und Postnuklearität. Der Beitrag bietet einen kurzen Überblick über die Vorkommenshäufigkeit von Rückversicherungsfragen in rein männlichen Studenten- und Handwerkergruppen.

Zusammenfassung Modelle fachlicher Kommunikation dienen nicht allein deren theoretischer Konzeption, sondern auch ihrer empirischen Deskription oder ihrer didaktischen bzw. ethischen Evaluation. In dem vorliegenden Beitrag wird anhand des erweiterten Modells fachlicher Kommunikation von Thorsten Roelcke und des Vorworts zu einem einschlägigen Sammelband zur Fachsprachenlinguistik von John Humbley gezeigt, wie ein solches Modell eine systematische Deskription fachlicher Kommunikation ermöglicht.
