"Der Band versucht, die beiden Perspektiven der lnnensicht und Außensicht aufzuzeigen. Einerseits werden aktuelle Entwicklungen, etwa die Entwicklung von Raumstrukturen (Kapitel „Lernort- und Raumkonzepte") thematisiert. Andererseits versucht man Veränderungsprozesse so aufzuzeigen, dass sie auf andere Bildungsbereiche übertragbar sind - vor allem in dem Kapitel „Kooperationsfelder", in dem es unter anderem um Bildungspartnerschaften mit Schulen und Kooperationen im Erwachsenenbildungsbereich geht. Zum Abschluss ziehen die Herausgeber ein Fazit über die veränderte Kontextualisierung öffentlicher Bibliotheken, etwa den Wandel der Rahmenbedingungen, die neuen Raumkonzepte und den Weg zum Lernort."
