Abstract
This edition of this book follows the tried and tested structure of previous years. This book is divided into three parts. Part One offers a review of some of the significant developments in UK social policy during 2007. Part Two is a selection of chapters which are papers which were delivered to the annual international Social Policy Association (SPA) conference held at the University of Birmingham in July 2007. It explores the experience of work-life balance amongst households in low-income neighbourhoods. Part Three highlights the important issue of gender inequality within the policy process and provides a selection of work from a SPA-sponsored workshop.
