16 Working together: building alliances, including everyone
-
Peter Beresford
Abstract
We look more closely at developing more equal and inclusive ways of working together to challenge neoliberal politics effectively and make change collectively. We hear about a case study of activism under COVID-19 conditions. We explore principles for truly inclusive working and alliance building, essential if minorities are to combine to make the necessary majority and address inequalities of power. This includes the praxis of empowerment, self-organisation, coproduction, participatory organisational structures, and prioritising diversity and inclusion. We look at how user-led organisations (ULOs) have developed to enable the widest involvement possible.
