The Effect of Crystallographic Structure of Pure Metals on the Relation between their Specific Heat Content between Room Temperature and the Melting Point and the Magnitude of Some Mechanical Properties

Abstract

It is shown in this report that when fcc and bcc pure metals are considered separately, an approximately linear relation between the specific heat content and some mechanical properties can be observed, whereas for the same metals no such relation of the same properties to the melting point can be found. The considered properties refer to very pure metals mostly with less than 0.01 percent of impurities, which were recrystallized to a finely polycrystalline microstructure.
