Abstract

The results of investigation of the isothermal oxidation wear mechanism of Ti-46Al-7Nb-0.7Cr-0.1Si-0.2Ni intermetallic alloy with AlCrN coating are presented. Tests in 9%O2 + 0.2%HCl + 0.08%SO2 + N2 atmosphere were performed at a temperature of 700°C. The structure of the specimen and chemical composition of the oxidation products were analysed using scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray analysis. In addition, mass changes were investigated.
