Seltenerdaluminate SEAl11O18, SEMgAl11O19 und SELi0,5Al11,519

Abstract
The hexagonal rare earth aluminates REAl11O18, REMgAl11O19, and RELi0.5Al11.5O19 were prepared by solid state reaction. The phases REA111O18 were found to exist only for RE = La, Ce, REMgAl11O19 for RE = La – Gd, and RELi0.5Al11.5O19 for RE = La – Eu. The values of c/a indicate REMgAl11O19 and RELi0.5Al11.5O19 to belong to the magnetoplumbite type. This may also be true for REA111O18 which was formerly assumed as a β-alumina phase.
