The Szilard-Chalmers Effect in Cyclohexane-Iodide Mixtures

Summary
An attempt has been made to estimate the number of radicals available for diffusive combination with
the radio-iodine produced by neutron capture in solvent systems. Reaction mechanisms used in the interpretation of the radiolysis of cyclohexane can also account for the chemical combination of such iodine atoms in cyclohexane-iodide mixtures.
