Zusammenfassung
Kombinatorische Preisoptimierung umfasst eine Vielzahl natürlicher Optimierungsprobleme, die sowohl bei der Berechnung erlösmaximierender Produktpreise auf Basis von Umfragedaten, als auch im Entwurf profitmaximierender Auktionsmechanismen in spieltheoretischen Szenarien eine wesentliche Rolle spielen. Die hier beschriebene Arbeit befasst sich mit algorithmischen und komplexitätstheoretischen Aspekten solcher Probleme und hat ihren Schwerpunkt, angesichts der Tatsache, dass die meisten der betrachteten Probleme NP-schwierig sind, im Bereich der Approximationsalgorithmen und Nichtapproximierbarkeit.
Abstract
Combinatorial pricing encompasses a wide range of natural optimization problems, which occur in the computation of revenue maximizing product prices based on consumer samples, as well as in the design of revenue maximizing auction mechanisms for strategic settings. The thesis described here considers algorithmic and complexity theoretic aspects of combinatorial pricing and, as most problems in the area are NP-hard, focuses mostly on questions of approximability.
