Manching (Ldkr. Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm) – Überlegungen zu den „Gruben“ mit menschlichen Skeletten und Skelettresten

Zusammenfassung
Das Oppidum von Manching ist für die Spätlatènezeit seit langem als einer der wenigen Fundplätze bekannt, aus dem menschliche Skelette und Skelettreste, noch dazu in großer Anzahl, vorliegen. Schon G. Lange hat bei seiner Bearbeitung der Funde aus den Jahren 1955–1973 auf der Basis der Anthropologie gewisse Regeln erkannt. Der vorliegende Beitrag geht von den „Gruben“ mit Menschenknochen von der Manchinger „Südumgehung“ aus, die von H. Lorenz detailliert vorgelegt wurden, und diskutiert, inwieweit sich für diese Befunde und konkret ihre Inventare Regelhaftigkeiten oder zumindest Tendenzen rekonstruiert lassen. Berücksichtigt werden auch die Themen der „Abfallentsorgung“ und des Erscheinungsbildes der Siedlung in der Spätlatènezeit.
Résumé
L’oppidum de Manching est un des rares sites de La Tène finale à avoir livré des squelettes et ossements humains, de plus en grande quantité. G. Lange avait déjà reconnu certaines règles lors de son étude anthropologique du matériel dans les années 1955–1973. Cette contribution se base sur les « fosses » de Manching « Südumgehung » (contournement sud) contenant des os humains, que H. Lorenz a publié en détail, et tente de déterminer dans quelle mesure on peut restituer des régularités ou, du moins, des tendances à travers ces structures et, plus concrètement, leurs inventaires. On tient également compte de l’ « élimination des déchets » et de l’aspect de l’apparence de l`oppidum à La Tène finale.
Summary
The oppidum of Manching is well known as one of the few Late Latène period sites with extensive human remains. Its burial practices have previously been studied from an anthropological perspective by G. Lange using skeletal material from the 1955–1973 campaigns. The present contribution is based on an analysis of “pits” with human remains from the “Südumgehung” at Manching published by H. Lorenz, and examines to what extent patterns can be identified for these features and their inventories. The topic of “waste disposal” and the appearance of the associated settlement during the Late Latène period are also taken into account.
