Zusammenfassung
Neueste Forschungen zur spätantiken urbs Roma haben deutlich gemacht, daß zahlreiche pagane und christliche Autoren sich an dem Diskurs um eine Neubestimmung der städtischen Identität Roms in der Spätantike beteiligten. Im vorliegenden Aufsatz wird auf der Basis seiner epistulae und carmina geprüft, ob und inwieweit auch Paulinus von Nola an dieser Diskussion teilgenommen hat.
Abstract
Recent research on urbs Roma in late antiquity has made clear that numerous pagan and Christian authors have participated in the discourse about the redefinition of late Roman urban identity. In the present contribution it is asked whether and to what extent Paulinus of Nola with his epistulae and carmina took part in this discourse about urban identity.
