We hope our readers and contributors are keeping safe and healthy in these challenging times of COVID-19.
In commemorating JALL@40, we announced the introduction of a new feature for JALL articles (see Ameka and Amha 2019), namely, the publication of short abstracts in the object language of the articles in addition to the abstracts in the metalanguage of the article. We are very happy that the contributors to this first issue of the new decade have enthusiastically welcomed the idea and have provided such summaries for their articles. We believe that this is a very small way in which JALL can contribute to expanding the domains of use of African languages.
A second commemorative feature we launched is the publication of overview articles about African language collections in archives. We would like to encourage our colleagues who have deposits in archives to submit such articles. We look forward to receiving such articles for processing.
Acknowledgements
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many colleagues who accept to serve as reviewers for submissions we receive. The quality of the journal and the peer-review system depend heavily on the sacrifices of these people and we are greatly indebted to them. Without their input there cannot be any JALL. We thank you all for your unfailing support in helping us maintain the standards of JALL. We would also like to thank our authors who continue to use JALL as an outlet of their work.
እናመሰግናለን! Akpe kakakakaka! Asante! Na gode!
