Abstract

This is a response to Wolfgang Klein (1989). Schreiben oder Lesen, aber nicht beides, oder: Vorschlag zur Wiedereinführung der Keilschrift mittels Hammer und Meißel, for the 50th Anniversary issue of IJSL. It focuses on the imbalance in access to academic publishing for scholars from the global south, and for scholars working in and on languages other than English.
