Theologische Subjektorientierung im elektronischen Panoptikum

Zusammenfassung
Medien und Subjektwerdung hängen heute aufs Engste zusammen. In der soziologischen Analyse von Ronald Hitzler gleicht das Leben in der gegenwärtigen visuell geprägten Medienkultur einem ‚elektronischen Panoptikum‘: Viele der neuen Kommunikationsformen setzen auf die Bereitschaft freiwilliger öffentlicher Selbstthematisierung und spielen zugleich mit dem Wunsch nach Beobachtung des Intimen. Entsprechende Kommunikationsformen prägen und verändern heutige Lebensformen nachhaltig. Der Beitrag fragt nach den Konsequenzen dieser Veränderungen für einen der wichtigsten Grundbegriffe der Praktischen Theologie und Religionspädagogik: die Subjektorientierung. Stehen eine subjektorientierte religiöse Praxis und Bildung nicht in der Gefahr, den überall geltenden Zwang zur Selbstthematisierung im Bereich des Religiösen nur zu wiederholen? Es wird argumentiert, auf welche Weise eine theologische Subjektorientierung, die dieser fundamentalen Anfrage und damit einer zentralen Herausforderung der Gegenwart begegnet, begründet und umgesetzt werden kann.
Abstract
Today the media and subjectivication are inextricably linked. Ronald Hitzler's sociological analysis compares life in contemporary visual media culture to an electronic panopticon. Many new forms of communication rely on the willingness of voluntary public self-thematisation, whilst playing with the desire to observe the intimate. Appropriate forms of communication deeply mould and change today's ways of life. This essay asks for the consequences of these changes concerning the fundamental notions of practical theology and religious education: the subject orientation. Is not a subject-orientated religious praxis and education in danger of the over-all existing compulsion towards self-thematisation? Is this concept of self-thematisation repeating itself in the realm of religion? It will be argued how, subject to a theological orientation, this fundamental request, which is a central challenge of today, can be established and implemented.
