Praktische Theologie als Theorie der Kommunikation des Evangeliums in der Gegenwart – Grundlagen und Konsequenzen

Abstract
The article is based on the observation that the object of Practical Theology is subject to fluctuation. Instead of previous determination by “pastor”, “church”, “religion” and “practice”, the article proposes “communication of the gospel”. “Communication” opens practical-theological theory to empirical research, “gospel” to theology. This determination with contemporary relevance leads to a new formatting of Practical Theology which is at the same time closer to the empirically knowable lifeworld as well as to theological insights. Traditional pastoral theology becomes theory of the activities which support the communication of the gospel; ecclesiology becomes theory of the social forms within which the gospel is communicated.
Zusammenfassung
Der Artikel geht von der Beobachtung aus, dass der Gegenstand Praktischer Theologie erheblichen Schwankungen unterliegt. Gegenüber bisherigen Bestimmungen durch „Pfarrer“, „Kirche“, „Religion“ sowie „Praxis“ wird „Kommunikation des Evangeliums“ vorgeschlagen. „Kommunikation“ ermöglicht vielfältige Anschlüsse an erfahrungswissenschaftliche Theoriebildung, „Evangelium“ an die Theologie. Eine solche gegenwartsbezogene Gegenstandsbestimmung führt zu einer Neuformatierung Praktischer Theologie, die zugleich größere Nähe zur empirisch erfassbaren Lebenswelt und zu theologischen Einsichten bietet. Die traditionelle Pastoraltheologie wird zu einer Theorie der Tätigkeiten, die die Kommunikation des Evangeliums fördern; die Kirchentheorie wird zu einer Theorie der Sozialformen, innerhalb derer das Evangelium kommuniziert wird.
