Second International Workshop “Numerical Solution of Fractional Differential Equations and Applications” (NSFDE&A'22), June 6-10, 2022, Sozopol, Bulgaria Details at: http://parallel.bas.bg/Conferences/NSFDE&A2022/

This will be the 2nd workshop NSFDE&A'22 organized by the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (https://www.iict.bas.bg/en/index.html) and MIV Consult Ltd. in cooperation with Bulgarian Section of SIAM (BG SIAM) and the Center of Excellence in Informatics and Information and Communication Technologies (CoE in Informatics and ICT). It follows the great success of the 1st workshop NSFDE&A’20, and the Special Sessions “Fractional Diffusion Problems: Numerical Methods, Algorithms and Applications” organized within the scientific program of the 12th and 13th LSSC Conferences,

The workshop is aimed to continue the new chain of NSFDE&A events to be organized biannually, every even year, complementary to the well-established LSSC conferences every odd year.

Scope: Specific topics of interest (but not limited to) are the following: (i) fractional in space diffusion problems; (ii) fractional in time diffusion problems; (iii) models of phenomena with memory; (iv) optimal control involving fractional diffusion; (v) multigrid solvers; (vi) coupled problems; (vii) phase separation and image segmentation; (viiii) parallel algorithms and HPC tools; (ix) applications in science and engineering.

Extended Abstracts/Short Communications: The extended abstracts/short communications (up to 3 pages) are to be written in standard LATEX and sent by e-mail to: nsfdea22@parallel.bas.bg. The proceedings will be available before starting the workshop.

Place: The event will be held in Sozopol (ancient Apolonia), a picturesque town on the Black Sea coast, 36 km south of Bourgas. The Bourgas International Airport is 50 km to the north from Sozopol.

The workshop will be organized as a hybrid event: a) presence at the conference venue in Sozopol; and b) online through the free (for the participants) software platform Zoom.

Important Deadlines: –Registration/intention to participate - January 31, 2022;–Submission of extended abstracts/short communications - February 15, 2022;–Notification of acceptance of the talks on the basis of the submitted abstract - March 1, 2022.
