Résumé

Cet article analysera la fusion d’éléments folkloriques, mythologiques, merveilleux et fantastiques ainsi que l’utilisation de diverses opérations transfictionnelles (un retelling du conte La Belle et la Bête) dans le conte Un grain de vérité d’Andrzej Sapkowski, à partir de la théorie littéraire des mondes possibles de M.-L. Ryan. Celle-ci nous semble appropriée pour rendre compte de la diversité des littératures de l’imaginaire et de la complexité de la notion générique de fantasy. Cette étude nous permettra de mieux situer l’œuvre dans ses concepts, son genre, ses procédures et ainsi de mieux saisir sa spécificité et son intérêt.

Abstract

This article will analyze the fusion of folkloric, mythological, marvelous, and fantastic elements as well as the use of various transfictional operations (such as a retelling of Beauty and the Beast) in Andrzej Sapkowski’s tale A grain of truth based on M.-L. Ryan’s literary theory of possible worlds. This theory seems to us to be appropriate to account for the diversity of fantasy literature and the complexity of the generic notion of fantasy. This study will allow us to better place the work in terms of its conceptual framework, its genre, and its progression and by extension to better capture its specificity and interest.

Zusammenfassung

In diesem Beitrag wird die Verbindung von folkloristischen, mythologischen, märchenhaften und fantastischen Elementen sowie die Verwendung verschiedener transfiktionaler Instrumente (eine Nacherzählung von Die Schöne und das Biest) in Andrzej Sapkowskis Kurzgeschichte Ein Körnchen Wahrheit auf der Grundlage von M.-L. Ryans literarischer Theorie der möglichen Welten analysiert. Diese Theorie scheint uns geeignet, um der Vielfalt der Literatur des Imaginären und der Vielseitigkeit des Gattungsbegriffs der Fantasie Rechnung zu tragen. So ermöglicht uns diese Recherche, das Werk in seinen Konzepten, seiner Gattung und seinen Vorgehensweisen besser zu positionieren und somit seine Spezifizität und sein Interesse besser zu begreifen.
