As the year is turning, Corrosion Reviews sees a major change in the editor group. After 17 years as Co-Editor-in-Chief, Professor Ronald M. Latanision has handed over editorial responsibility to Professor En-Hou Han, President of the Institute of Corrosion Science and Technology (ICoST), China and Director of the National Engineering Research Center for Corrosion Control, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. Prof. Han will continue the editorship together with Dr. Raul B. Rebak, Co-Editor-in-Chief since 2017.
Ron Latanision took the position of Editor-in-Chief in 2005, together with Professor Noam Eliaz (Co-Editor-in-Chief until 2017). At that time the journal was owned by Freund Publishing House, Tel Aviv, Israel; it was acquired by De Gruyter in 2010. Together with his fellow Editors-in-Chief, Ron Latanision has very successfully run and steadily moved forward the journal over this long period. He did this next to his many other commitments in academia as well as entrepreneurship, and in addition to various other interests in life he cultivates.
On behalf of De Gruyter, I would like to express my sincerest thanks to Ron Latanision for his professional and personal commitment to Corrosion Reviews: Through his long-standing, renowned expertise in corrosion science, his high academic standards and editorial skills he has made an exceptional contribution to the journal. Because Corrosion Reviews is “in his DNA”, as he likes to say, Ron will fortunately stay on as a senior Editorial Board member.
Speaking for myself, I will not forget the high respect Ron has always paid to the work of, and interaction with, the Editorial Office as well as the great support he has provided while we were dealing with all kinds of editorial matters. Also, I would like to cordially thank Ron for his humour, wit and empathy which have made our mutual journal life very pleasant.
Prof. Han is a very well-recognized researcher in the corrosion science field. We sincerely welcome Prof. Han to his new position and wish him all the best for his future tasks as Co-Editor-in-Chief. Together with him, Raul Rebak and the entire editorial group we very much look forward to further advancing Corrosion Reviews.
