Sun Youzhong
Professor Sun Youzhong, Vice President of Beijing Foreign Studies University, was elected the president of Chinese English Language Education Association on October 19, 2017. His research interests span intercultural communication, English education, American studies, and Australian studies. He is the author of a number of books including
Decoding China ’s Image: A Comparative Study of the China Reporting by The New York Timesand The Times1993-2002; The Symbol of American Spirit: John Dewey’s Social Thought; Modern American Popular Culture; Approaching America; andAmerican Cultural Industry . He is the editor of a series of books includingEnglish Education and Liberal Arts Education; Classics of Western Thought; Intercultural Mass Communication; Intercultural Perspectives; Intercultural Communication Studies: New Frontiers; Intercultural Communication Studies: New Perspectives andCultural Studies Reader Series . He has published numerous articles in a number of journals at home and abroad, and is the translator of quite a few philosophical works. He is the chief editor ofThink English , a textbook series for college English majors, and the chief editor ofChinese Journal of ESP .
