On 27 October 2014, CEFIC, the European Chemical Industry Council, released their second sustainability report entitled “Teaming up for a sustainable Europe.” With their partners in the supply chain CEFIC deliver innovative solutions to global challenges while preserving resources and the environment. Their products and services play a crucial role in addressing key societal challenges, such as providing water, food and energy to a growing world population.

The European chemical industry’s commitment to Sustainabillity, focuses on (1) how we conduct our business of providing the essentials to society and the economy in a safe and responsible way; (2) our constant improvement of our own performance to achieve environmental, social and economic progress; (3) our solutions to societal challenges (resource, energy, water urban population growth and nutrition challenges); and (4) The success factors for securing a sustainable future for Europe.
