Anatolian Conference on Synthetic Organic Chemistry
16-19 March 2015, Antalya, Turkey
The Anatolian Conference on Synthetic Organic Chemistry is a new conference series that focuses primarily on synthetic organic chemistry, embracing new synthetic methodologies, catalysis, organometalic chemistry, stereochemistry and heterocyclic chemistry. The conference, which will include plenary/keynote lectures and poster presentations, will rotate annually among premier locations in Turkey.
This conference will be unique in providing each attendee a two-day poster session, each poster presented on both days. This allows attendees to discuss their work in greater detail, exchange ideas with experts in their field, and to network with worldwide research groups. Awards will be presented to the top three posters selected by the scientific committee. The conference, organized in conjunction with The Turkish Chemists Society, will be held from 16-19 March 2015 at AKKA ANTEDON Hotel, a five-star resort, in Antalya, Turkey.
Water and Life in the Universe
9-13 November 2015, Foz do Iguacu, Brazil
The Committee on Space Research (COSPAR) has initiated a new series of scientific meetings, the Symposia, aimed at promoting space research at a regional level, and to be organized in countries with medium- or small-size space infrastructures. In Brazil, as in many emerging countries, priority has been given to space research in recent years. COSPAR will hold its Second Symposium in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil following the successful first event held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2013. The São Paulo State University (UNESP), and the National Institute of Space Research (INPE), will co-host the Symposium.
The theme of the 2nd Symposium will be “Water and Life in the Universe”. It will feature plenary lectures as well as parallel and poster sessions. Foz do Iguaçu, a city on the borders of Paraguay, Brazil and Argentina, includes among its amazing attractions the astonishing Cataratas do Iguaçu, huge natural water falls, and the enormous ITAIPU, the hydroelectric power plant with the largest power production in the world.
Selected papers will be published in Advances in Space Research and Life Sciences in Space Research, fully refereed journals with no deadlines open to all submissions in relevant fields. The Abstract Deadline is 31 May 2015.

The topics will include: space astronomy missions to detect ingredient for life and exoplanets in the universe: status of current and future approved missions and new proposals; water and life in the universe and on Earth: impact on human consciousness and societies; satellite and probe missions for water remote sensing on Earth, planets, and other celestial bodies; water and life in the solar system; water from chemical, biological, and physical perspectives; role of water from the ground to the upper atmosphere; astrobiology: habitability, synthesis of organics in ice, and prebiotic chemistry in liquid water; water, organics and life support for human exploration in low Earth orbit, the Moon and beyond; and interdisciplinary lectures, keynote talks, public lectures

Chemical Biography In the 21st Century
9-12 September 2015, Aveiro, Portugal
The 10th International Conference on the History of Chemistry (10th ICHC) will be held at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, 9-12 September 2015. This interdisciplinary conference welcomes participants from a range of academic disciplines, including the history of science and technology, science and technology studies (STS), economic and business history, the history of material culture, and museum studies. We also welcome participants from chemistry and related disciplines with an interest in the history of their discipline.
The conference will embrace all aspects of the history of alchemy and chemistry including the history of materials and the history of biochemistry. Papers which simply present the biography of a chemist will not be accepted, as there must be a line of argument or a historical problem. Proposals can be made for sessions, standard papers (20 minutes), short papers (10 minutes) and posters, and should be uploaded to the conference website as Abstracts between 150 and 300 words.
Session proposals should include the abstracts of the proposed papers. The deadline for all proposals is 31 March 2015. Papers might address:
· Autobiographies as a source for historians of chemistry
· Biography and discipline building
· Biographies and nationalism
· The making and unmaking of chemical heroes
· Myths and misrepresentation
· Iconography as a mode of self-representation in the visual arts, sculpture and photography
· The historiography of the biographical mode
· Collective biographies including biographical dictionaries and the “biographies” of research groups
Proposals for papers on other topics can be submitted, but preference will be given to papers reflecting the conference theme.

Selenium in the Environment and Human Health
18-21 October 2015, Cuiaba, Brazil
Based on the overwhelming success of the first three International Conferences on Selenium in the Environment and Human Health, the 4th International Conference on Selenium in the Environment and Human Health will take place on 18-21 October, 2015, in Cuiaba, Brazil. Early Registration (with reduced registration fee) is available until 1 August 2015, along with Hotel reservation through the local organizing committee.
This conference will create an interdisciplinary atmosphere that connects selenium (Se) research throughout the world. It is our intent to expand our multi-faceted perspective on Se and evaluate its impact on environments and biological systems.
Abstracts are welcomed for all aspects of Se research relevant to the environment, animal and human health, and biochemical, nutritional and molecular processes. The deadline for submission of abstracts is 1 June 2015. Notices of Acceptance will be completed by 15 July 2015. Abstracts are welcome on the following topics:
· Soil Se variation and worldwide deficiency and contamination distribution;
· Transport and fate of Se in the air-water-soil/sediment-plant and animal systems;
· Phytomemediation & phytomanagement of Se-contaminated soils;
· Understanding the role of Se in the physical and biological environment;
· Biochemical, cellular, and physiological functions of Se in animal and human health;
· Biotransformation of Se and techniques for Se speciation analysis;
· Development and uses of Se-biofortified agricultural products;
· Environmental Se pollution and control;
· Plant nutrition and plant physiology;
· Agronomic biofortification strategy, and roles in human and animal health
