Abstract
The inner chronology of the late Old-Babylonian tablets from Tall ʿAṭšāna-Alalaḫ has traditionally been subject of intense debate among specialized scholars. Since it continues to be of importance for a valid general timeline of the history of the ancient Near East, a well delimited „Alalaḫ VII Chronology“ still remains as a vivid matter of discussion in Assyriological studies. A second longer debate on the theme has taken place since 1992, in which an interesting contribution made by Ch. Eder deserves special attention. This article particularly discusses all critical arguments presented by Eder in his proposal of three governors for the entire period of Alalaḫ VII.
