Abstract
This article explores the significance of dialect dictionaries from the perspective of the early 21st century. Following a brief overview of the current state of academic German-language dialect lexicography, the fifteen “Villa Vigoni Theses on Lexicography” (2018) are applied to dialect dictionaries covering the Bavarian region. This analysis considers dialect dictionaries as “dictionaries of the future” and highlights their potential for future-oriented lexicography.
Abstract
