The Failed Promise and the Success of the Spanish Lottery

  • Michael Scham is Associate Professor of Spanish at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Trondheim). His research ranges from early modern Spanish literature, casuistry, and debates on licit and illicit forms of recreation, to tango culture and modernity in Buenos Aires. He is the author of Lector Ludens: The Representation of Games and Play in Cervantes (University of Toronto Press, 2014).
