Ein Kapitel aus dem Buch Green Chemistry

Abstract

Alternative solvents such as bio-based solvents, ionic liquids, deep eutectic solvents and switchable solvents have been proposed as green alternatives to conventional volatile organic solvent systems for a wide variety of applications including chemical synthesis, separations and purifications, energy applications, and future biorefineries. This chapter aims to introduce these emerging solvents and use selected examples to highlight how the technical advances they can provide can contribute directly to the UN sustainable development goals to enable a more sustainable future.
