Abstract

In der Paulus-Apokalypse wird die Titelfigur in den dritten Himmel entrückt und erhält dort eine Schau des Jenseits (vgl. 2 Kor 12,1-5). Gegenüber seinem angelus interpres äußert Paulus zweimal einen Herzenswunsch, nämlich zu sehen, wie die Seelen der Gerechten und der Sünder (a) aus dem Körper (Apoc.- Paul 14) und (b) aus der Welt gehen (Apoc.Paul 13). So wird Paulus Zeuge der Scheidung von Körper und Seele, dem Eingang letzterer in das Jenseits, der Abwägung bzw. Bewertung irdischen Verhaltens und jenseitiger Gerichtsverhandlungen. Dieser Artikel ordnet die Vorgänge interpretatorisch in den Kontext anthropologischen Verlangens nach dem Wissen über die letzten Dinge ein, zeichnet sie im Hinblick auf das zugrundeliegende Verständnis von ‘Körper,’ ‘Geist’ und ‘Seele’ nach und erörtert in diesem Zusammenhang auch die in corpore/carne- Aussagen in dieser einflussreichen Apokalypse.
