Abstract

This paper explores how strategic vision and policy guide building design, service design and delivery, and provide clarity of purpose. It emphasises that policy and strategy can keep library managers on track to deliver outstanding library services aligned to the vision. It demonstrates how in 2017, after 10 years of operation in the transformed building, the journey for the State Library of Queensland (SLQ) continues to ensure its place in the Queensland community, as well as in a world that embraces both print and digital collections, and a place for all Queenslanders.
