The European hydrogen strategy
-
Paula Abreu Marques
Summary
On July 8, 2020, the European Commission (EU) presented “A hydrogen strategy for a climate-neutral Europe.” The strategy was published alongside the Energy System Integration strategy, which examined the pathways toward climate neutrality by 2050. This article discusses the background for the hydrogen strategy, the drivers for the publication of the strategy, and the rationale for the proposed actions that have been considered by the hydrogen strategy.
