The New Czech Civil Code and Compensation for Damage: Introductory Remarks

Abstract
The Czech Republic has adopted a new Civil Code which presents rather revolutionary changes across the entire civil law. These introductory remarks aim to give context to the translation of the liability provisions of the new Code which follows immediately after. The aim is to provide a brief overview and introduction to the history of the new enactment, its conceptual structures, and the key changes it brings.
