Abstract
The study, development, manufacture, and distribution of novel chemical entities (NCEs) and biological products intended to enhance human health constitute the core activities of the pharmaceutical industry, which follows a methodical and intricate business model. The chapter provides information about the innovative technologies introduced in pharma. In particular, drug discovery and regulatory approval are two areas where the pharmaceutical industry could undergo a radical transformation because of AI. Blockchain technology may significantly enhance the safeguarding of data confidentiality and the verification of intellectual property asset generation. Blockchain technology is also applicable to medical consultation frameworks, protecting users’ privacy and security, an essential consideration from the perspective of the patient when it comes to psychological and sexual diseases. Nonetheless, there are several obstacles that blockchain technology must overcome, including data management, privacy issues, data redundancy, and integration with current healthcare systems. An overview of the latest developments in artificial intelligence and blockchain technology is provided in the chapter.
