Collaboration dedicated to advancing global academic research
Berlin, 6 October 2025
De Gruyter Brill and Academic Language Experts (ALE) have entered and expanded a strategic partnership designed to accelerate the dissemination of knowledge in the humanities and social sciences. Under the agreement, ALE will provide De Gruyter Brill authors with comprehensive author services and publication assistance while both organizations explore fresh avenues for growth and innovation in the author services arena.
This collaboration rests on the partners’ shared commitment to ensuring that researchers from around the world can make meaningful contributions to the scholarly record.
“ALE shares our ambition to bring first-rate scholarly work to the global research community. Our authors sit at the heart of everything we do, and the services we provide are central to our publishing strategy,” said Manuela Gerlof, Chief Publishing Officer, De Gruyter Brill. “We are delighted to work with ALE—an organization that truly understands the needs of humanities and social-science researchers—to elevate our authors’ manuscripts from initial draft to final publication.”
Avi Staiman, founder and CEO of ALE, added: “I am honored to extend our previous Brill partnership to the new De Gruyter Brill entity. Our mutual belief in human creativity as the engine of innovative scholarship drives this partnership. Together, we can further level the playing field so that all researchers, regardless of background, can achieve publishing success. I look forward to working with the De Gruyter Brill team to introduce new ideas and approaches to author services.”
