History
Wilhelm Ostwald, who established Physical Chemistry as a special discipline, founded the journal in 1887 together with Jacobus Henricus van’t Hoff. 1954 Zeitschrift für Physikalische Chemie was separated into an East German and a West German Edition. The two editions were reunited in 1991.
