Two environmentally friendly inhibitors of imidazolium-based ionic liquids namely 3-benzyl-1-hexadecyl-1 H -imidazol-3-ium chloride (IL-H), and 3-(4-chlorobenzyl)-1-hexadecyl-1 H -imidazol-3-ium chloride (IL-Cl) were manufactured and their chemical structures were confirmed by spectra tools (FT-IR, and 1 H NMR). The utilizing of these two new ionic liquids as green corrosion inhibitors for low carbon steel (LCS) in 1.0 M HCl under altered experimental conditions. Mass loss (ML), potentiodynamic polarization (PP), AC impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and surface morphology are take place in this study. The protection performance found to increase with increasing ionic liquid dose and temperature, reaching 92.9% and 95.1% for IL-H and IL-Cl at 120 ppm, respectively. Based on the PP records, the investigated ionic liquids behave as mixed-type inhibitors, influencing both anodic and cathodic responses. The inhibitory activity from these explored ionic liquids was stimulated by their adsorption on the effective surfaces of the steel surface in accordance with the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The Density Functional Theory (DFT) method is used to analyze the relationship between quantum chemical calculations and the protection efficiency of ionic liquids.

This study focusses on the adsorption efficiency of cotton pod ( Gossypium arboreum ) for biosorption of direct red (DR) 80 dye. The effect of dye concentration, pH, shaking time, adsorbent dose and temperature was considered to evaluate the adsorption efficiency of the cheapest raw material on the removal of dye. Various concentrations (10–50 ppm) were examined and maximum percentage removal of the adsorbent was obtained at pH 1 with adsorbent dose of 0.9 g and shaking time of 60 min. To enhance the adsorption efficiency of the adsorbent, the cotton calyx was treated with FeSO 4 .7H 2 O and investigated the removal of the raw adsorbent and the composite. It was examined that the removal efficiency of the composite is more than that of raw adsorbent. The composite was more efficient as dye removal reached up to 97%. FTIR of the composite shows an additional peak at 650 cm −1 for presence of Fe-O group and confirmation of composite formation. SEM micrograph showed that the particles in composite are more packed compared to the raw adsorbent. Mathematical models were applied and kinetic studies also have been done to provide better results regarding to the experimental data. It is concluded that the prepared adsorbent could be used as a tool for the removal of toxic pollutants from textile wastewater.

Charcoal-based materials have attracted much attention for the removal of pharmaceutical agents. The charcoal-based carbon materials have green synthetic routes, high surface area, numerous active site with active functional groups available for physico-chemical interactions with adsorbate for surface-adsorptive removal of toxins. In this study, acid treated activated carbon was developed from the peach seeds using thermal pyrolysis approach. Phosphoric acid activated carbon (PAC) was further modified by HNO 3 and employed as an adsorbent for the removal of amoxicillin and paracetamol and process variables were optimized for enhanced removal of amoxicillin and paracetamol. The adsorption of pharmaceutical agents was significantly affected by temperature, pH and reaction time. The amoxicillin and paracetamol sorption process onto PCA followed a pseudo second order kinetics and Langmuir isotherm model with a maximum removal capacity of 51.8 mg/g and 51.1 mg/g, respectively. The results revealed that acid activated carbon has promising efficiency for the removal of amoxicillin and paracetamol from aqueous medium and peach seeds derived PCA could be employed for the removal of these pharmaceutical agents from effluents and PAC is also extendable for the removal of other drugs from pharmaceutical wastewater streams.

Cocrystallization is an old technique and remains the focus of several research groups working in the field of Chemistry and Pharmacy. This technique is basically in field for improving physicochemical properties of material which can be active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) or other chemicals with poor profile. So this review article has been presented in order to combine various concepts for scientists working in the field of chemistry, pharmacy or crystal engineering, also it was attempt to elaborate concepts belonging to crystal designing, their structures and applications. A handsome efforts have been made to bring scientists together working in different fields and to make chemistry easier for a pharmacist and pharmacy for chemists pertaining to cocrystals. Various aspects of chemicals being used as co-formers have been explored which predict the formation of co-crystals or molecular salts and even inorganic cocrystals.

Cobalt oxide nanostructures are gaining popularity in the scientific community because they are reasonably priced, easy to develop, and have unique properties that make them valuable for coating, corrosion inhibitors, supercapacitors, photocatalysis, and other applications. In this review, the most well-known and effective synthetic methods are mentioned along with their particle size. A description of the main experimental methods used to describe the nanoparticles is also provided. In addition, the green production of cobalt oxide nanoparticles using plant extract is summarized. In particular with regard, we mentioned the use of cobalt oxide nanoparticles in the construction of nanocomposites coatings and future prospective approaches.
