Methyl azide reacts with nitrosyl hexachloroantimonate(V) according to the conditions to yield nitrogen, dinitrogen oxide and methyl chloride or N-methylmethylenimonium hexachloroantimonate(V) (1). Independant of the conditions ethyl or isopropyl azide give 1:1-compounds of the azides with antimony(V) chloride and ethylidene or isopropylideneimonium hexachloroantimonate(V) (2) or (8).
