Based on two different Riccati equations with different parameters, many new types of complexiton solutions to the (2+1)-dimensional Burgers equation are investigated. Such complexiton solutions obtained possess various combinations of trigonometric periodic and hyperbolic function solutions, various combinations of trigonometric periodic and rational function solutions, various combinations of hyperbolic and rational function solutions. - PACS numbers: 02.30.Ik, 05.45.Yv

In this article we study Bäcklund transformations of the fifth-order Painlevé equations Fif-I, Fif-II, Fif-III and Fif-IV. We derive Bäcklund transformations between these equations and new fifth-order Painlevé equations. The method of derivation is based on the idea of seeking transformations that preserve the Painlevé property. By means of the extended homogeneous balance method and the variable separation approach, more general variable separation solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional Broer-Kaup-Kupershmidt equation are obtained. Based on the variable separation solution and by selecting appropriate functions, new types of interactions between the multi-valued and the single-valued solitons, such as compactonlike semi-foldon and compacton, peakon-like semi-foldon and peakon, and bell-like semi-foldon and dromion, are investigated. Based on the assumption that electroweak bosons, leptons and quarks possess a substructure of elementary fermionic constituents, in a previous paper it was demonstrated that under CP-symmetry breaking “electric” and “magnetic” electroweak bosons coexist, where the latter transmit magnetic monopole interactions. In this paper the calculation is extended to the derivation of the effective theory for electroweak bosons and leptons. It is shown that under the influence of CP-symmetry breaking charged leptons are transmuted into dyons, the interactions of which are mediated by electric and magnetic electroweak bosons. The dynamical law of the fermionic constituents is assumed to be given by a relativistically invariant nonlinear spinor field theory with local interaction, canonical quantization, selfregularization and probability interpretation. The corresponding effective theory is derived by means of weak mapping theorems and turns out to be an extension of the Standard model for dyons where owing to CP-violation SU(2)-symmetry is simultaneously broken. A mechanism of inducing CP-symmetry violation in the low energy range is proposed

We investigate numerically the dynamics of paired bright solitons induced by the modulational instability of two-component Bose-Einstein condensates. We derive the analytic gain spectrum by the modulational instability in terms of the interspecies and intraspecies scattering constants and classify the region where the instability occurs. The constraints on the interspecies and intraspecies scattering constants for the existence of the paired bright solitons are found. Using numerical simulations, it is shown that the paired bright solitons induced by the modulational instability exhibit complicated dynamical behaviors depending on the sign and strength of the interspecies and intraspecies scattering constants. - PACS numbers: 03.75.Fi, 05.30.Jp, 32.80Pj, 67.90.+z

Spectral analysis of the alkali metals is characterized by pressure profiles. In the present work an electric arc has been used to calibrate the half-width of the intensity used in the construction of the ArI natural line at 4300 Å with a trace of evaporated rubidium at pressures of 1, 2 and 3 atmospheres. The results agree well with those obtained by Kusch’s line absorption equation in an electric furnace in the point of view of impact approximation, showing that the widths of the lines have Lorentz shapes. It is found that a simple treatment can be given using the quasi-static approximation of pressure broadening developed by Unsöld. The agreement of the results is good only if the shifts are large. The study shows that the pressure line profile is made up of a sum of dispersion profiles and asymmetric terms which arise from interactions of quadratic Stark effect, commonly assumed to be the force in causing foreign gas broadening

The composition and temperature dependence of the Raman spectra of molten LnI 3 -CsI (Ln = Ce, Dy, Ho) mixtures have been measured. Raman spectra of the polycrystalline compounds CeI 3 , DyI 3 , Cs 3 CeI 6 , Cs 3 DyI 6 and Cs 3 Dy 2 I 9 have also been measured from room temperature up to ∼ 750 ◦ C, where melting occurs for most of these salts. The data are correlated to previous studies involving rare-earth chlorides and bromides and are discussed in terms of the melt structure and the structural systematics of the rare-earth iodide-alkali iodide molten mixtures

The density of N-(p-n-pentylbenzylidene)-p-n-pentylaniline (5.5) and its two oxygen derivatives, viz. N-(p-n-pentylbenzylidene)-p-n-pentyloxyaniline (5.O5) and N-(p-n-pentyloxybenzylidene)-p-npentyloxyaniline (5O.O5), is reported for the isotropic (I), nematic (N), smectic-G (S G ) and crystalline (K) phases. Dilatometric results reveal the first order nature of the I-N, N-SG and N-K transitions. A rare occurrence of the N-K transition is found for the compound 5O.O5 at a considerably higher temperature. From the observed density data pre-transitional effects are estimated for the isotropic to the first mesomorphic phase. The results are discussed in the light of data reported on other Schiff base benzylidene anilines

The EPR parameters (g factors g II , g ⊥ , and zero-field splitting D) of a trigonal Fe + center (which is assigned to a donor-acceptor pair defect Fe + Ga -SP caused by S 2− at a nearest-neighbor P 3− site of an Fe + Ga impurity) in n-type GaP codoped with iron and sulphur are calculated from high-order perturbation formulas based on the two spin-orbit coupling parameter model for the EPR parameters of a 3d 7 ion in trigonal symmetry. The calculated results agree well with the observed values, suggesting that the assignment is suitable
