The main aim of this short note is to show that the subdifferentiability and duality results established by Laghdir (2005), Laghdir and Benabbou (2007), and Alimohammady et al. (2011), stated in Fréchet spaces, are consequences of the corresponding known results using Moreau-Rockafellar type conditions.

In this paper, we present the existence result for Carathéodory type solutions for the nonlinear Sturm- Liouville boundary value problem (SLBVP) in Banach spaces on an arbitrary time scale. For this purpose, we introduce an equivalent integral operator to the SLBVP by means of Green’s function on an appropriate set. By imposing the regularity conditions expressed in terms of Kuratowski measure of noncompactness, we prove the existence of the fixed points of the equivalent integral operator. Mönch’s fixed point theorem is used to prove the main result. Finally, we also remark that it is straightforward to guarantee the existence of Carathéodory solutions for the SLBVP if Kuratowski measure of noncompactness is replaced by any axiomatic measure of noncompactness.

A space X is absolutely strongly star-Hurewicz if for each sequence (U n :n ∈ℕ/ of open covers of X and each dense subset D of X, there exists a sequence (F n :n ∈ℕ/ of finite subsets of D such that for each x ∈X, x ∈St(F n ; U n ) for all but finitely many n. In this paper, we investigate the relationships between absolutely strongly star-Hurewicz spaces and related spaces, and also study topological properties of absolutely strongly star-Hurewicz spaces.

Let G be a connected graph. A vertex w ∈ V.G/ strongly resolves two vertices u,v ∈ V.G/ if there exists some shortest u-w path containing v or some shortest v-w path containing u. A set S of vertices is a strong resolving set for G if every pair of vertices of G is strongly resolved by some vertex of S. The smallest cardinality of a strong resolving set for G is called the strong metric dimension of G. It is well known that the problem of computing this invariant is NP-hard. In this paper we study the problem of finding exact values or sharp bounds for the strong metric dimension of strong product graphs and express these in terms of invariants of the factor graphs.

The original version of the article was published in Open Mathematics (formerly Central European Journal of Mathematics) 13 (2015) 64–74. Unfortunately, the original version of this article contains a mistake: in Lemma 2.17 appears that for any C1-graph G and any graph H, β (G ⊠ H) ≤ β (G)(β(H)+1), while should be β (G ⊠ H) ≤ β(H) (β(G)+1). In this erratum we correct the lemma, its proof and some of its consequences.

The paper presents a new type of density topology on the real line generated by the pointwise convergence, similarly to the classical density topology which is generated by the convergence in measure. Among other things, this paper demonstrates that the set of pointwise density points of a Lebesgue measurable set does not need to be measurable and the set of pointwise density points of a set having the Baire property does not need to have the Baire property. However, the set of pointwise density points of any Borel set is Lebesgue measurable.

Which subgroups of the symmetric group Sn arise as invariance groups of n-variable functions defined on a k-element domain? It appears that the higher the difference n-k, the more difficult it is to answer this question. For k ≤ n, the answer is easy: all subgroups of Sn are invariance groups. We give a complete answer in the cases k = n-1 and k = n-2, and we also give a partial answer in the general case: we describe invariance groups when n is much larger than n-k. The proof utilizes Galois connections and the corresponding closure operators on Sn, which turn out to provide a generalization of orbit equivalence of permutation groups. We also present some computational results, which show that all primitive groups except for the alternating groups arise as invariance groups of functions defined on a three-element domain.

We analyze the set-valued stochastic integral equations driven by continuous semimartingales and prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions to such equations in the framework of the hyperspace of nonempty, bounded, convex and closed subsets of the Hilbert space L2 (consisting of square integrable random vectors). The coefficients of the equations are assumed to satisfy the Osgood type condition that is a generalization of the Lipschitz condition. Continuous dependence of solutions with respect to data of the equation is also presented. We consider equations driven by semimartingale Z and equations driven by processes A;M from decomposition of Z, where A is a process of finite variation and M is a local martingale. These equations are not equivalent. Finally, we show that the analysis of the set-valued stochastic integral equations can be extended to a case of fuzzy stochastic integral equations driven by semimartingales under Osgood type condition. To obtain our results we use the set-valued and fuzzy Maruyama type approximations and Bihari’s inequality.

The chaos of the differentiation operator on generalized weighted Bergman spaces of entire functions has been characterized recently by Bonet and Bonilla in [CAOT 2013], when the differentiation operator is continuous. Motivated by those, we investigate conditions to ensure that finite many powers of differentiation operators are disjoint hypercyclic on generalized weighted Bergman spaces of entire functions.

In this paper we shall study a notion of relative annihilator-preserving congruence relation and relative annihilator-preserving homomorphism in the class of bounded distributive semilattices. We shall give a topological characterization of this class of semilattice homomorphisms. We shall prove that the semilattice congruences that are associated with filters are exactly the relative annihilator-preserving congruence relations.

For a given space X let C(X) be the family of all compact subsets of X. A space X is dominated by a space M if X has an M-ordered compact cover, this means that there exists a family F = {F K : K ∈ C(M)} ⊂ C(X) such that ∪ F = X and K ⊂ L implies that F K ⊂ F L for any K;L ∈ C(M). A space X is strongly dominated by a space M if there exists an M-ordered compact cover F such that for any compact K ⊂ X there is F ∈ F such that K ⊂ F . Let K(X) D C(X)\{Ø} be the set of all nonempty compact subsets of a space X endowed with the Vietoris topology. We prove that a space X is strongly dominated by a space M if and only if K(X) is strongly dominated by M and an example is given of a σ-compact space X such that K(X) is not Lindelöf†. It is stablished that if the weight of a scattered compact space X is not less than c, then the spaces Cp(K(X)) and K(Cp(X)) are not Lindelöf Σ. We show that if X is the one-point compactification of a discrete space, then the hyperspace K(X) is semi-Eberlein compact.

Here we will derive formulas for expressing any polynomial as linear combinations of two kinds of higherorder Daehee polynomial basis. Then we will apply these formulas to certain polynomials in order to get new and interesting identities involving higher-order Daehee polynomials of the first kind and of the second kind.

Let X be an infinite compact metrizable space having only a finite number of isolated points and Y be a non-degenerate dendrite with a distinguished end point v. For each continuous map ƒ : X → Y , we define the hypo-graph ↓vƒ = ∪ x∈X {x} × [v, ƒ (x)], where [v, ƒ (x)] is the unique arc from v to ƒ (x) in Y . Then we can regard ↓ v C(X, Y ) = {↓ v ƒ | ƒ : X → Y is continuous} as the subspace of the hyperspace Cld(X × Y ) of nonempty closed sets in X × Y endowed with the Vietoris topology. Let be the closure of ↓ v C(X, Y ) in Cld(X ×Y ). In this paper, we shall prove that the pair , ↓ v C(X, Y )) is homeomorphic to (Q, c 0 ), where Q = I ℕ is the Hilbert cube and c 0 = {(x i ) i∈ℕ ∈ Q | lim i→∞ x i = 0}.

In this paper, we mainly derive the general solutions of two systems of minus partial ordering equations over von Neumann regular rings. Meanwhile, some special cases are correspondingly presented. As applications, we give some necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of solutions. It can be seen that some known results can be regarded as the special cases of this paper.

This paper concerns the oscillation problem of second-order nonlinear damped ODE with functional terms.We give some new interval oscillation criteria which is not only based on constructing a lower solution of a Riccati type equation but also based on constructing an upper solution for corresponding Riccati type equation. We use a recently developed pointwise comparison principle between those lower and upper solutions to obtain our results. Some illustrative examples are also provided to demonstrate our results.

In this paper, we show that any generalized ordered space X is monotonically (countably) metacompact if and only if the subspace X - { x } is monotonically (countably) metacompact for every point x of X and monotone (countable) metacompact property is hereditary with respect to convex (open) subsets in generalized ordered spaces. In addition, we show the equivalence of two questions posed by H.R. Bennett, K.P. Hart and D.J. Lutzer.

The natural filtration of the infinite-dimensional simple modular Lie superalgebra M over a field of characteristic p > 2 is proved to be invariant under automorphisms by discussing ad-nilpotent elements. Moreover, an intrinsic property is obtained and all the infinite-dimensional simple modular Lie superalgebras M are classified up to isomorphisms. As an application, a property of automorphisms of M is given.

We consider one-dimensional parabolic free boundary value problem with a nonlocal (integro-differential) condition on the free boundary. Results on C m -smoothness of the free boundary are obtained. In particular, a necessary and sufficient condition for infinite differentiability of the free boundary is given.

Erdős introduced the noncommuting graph in order to study the number of commuting elements in a finite group. Despite the use of combinatorial ideas, his methods involved several techniques of classical analysis. The interest for this graph has become relevant during the last years for various reasons. Here we deal with a numerical aspect, showing for the first time an isoperimetric inequality and an analytic condition in terms of Sobolev inequalities. This last result holds in the more general context of weighted locally finite graphs.

A new kind of entropy solution of Cauchy problem of the strong degenerate parabolic equation is introduced. If u 0 ∈ L ∞ (R N ), E = {E i } ∈ (L 2 (Q T )) N and divE ∈ L 2 (Q T ), by a modified regularization method and choosing the suitable test functions, the BV estimates are got, the existence of the entropy solution is obtained. At last, by Kruzkov bi-variables method, the stability of the solutions is obtained.

Signature-based algorithms are efficient algorithms for computing Gröbner-Shirshov bases in commutative polynomial rings, and some noncommutative rings. In this paper, we first define skew solvable polynomial rings, which are generalizations of solvable polynomial algebras and (skew) PBW extensions. Then we present a signature-based algorithm for computing Gröbner-Shirshov bases in skew solvable polynomial rings over fields.

In this paper, we discuss some properties of beta function of several variables which are the extension of beta function of two variables. We define k-beta function of several variables and derive some properties of this function which are the extension of k-beta function of two variables, recently defined by Diaz and Pariguan [4]. Also, we extend the formula Γ k (2z) proved by Kokologiannaki [5] via properties of k-beta function.

In this paper three dimensional real hypersurfaces in non-flat complex space forms whose k-th Cho operator with respect to the structure vector field ξ commutes with the structure Jacobi operator are classified. Furthermore, it is proved that the only three dimensional real hypersurfaces in non-flat complex space forms, whose k-th Cho operator with respect to any vector field X orthogonal to structure vector field commutes with the structure Jacobi operator, are the ruled ones. Finally, results concerning real hypersurfaces in complex hyperbolic space satisfying the above conditions are also provided.

It is proved that the space of solutions of the Dirichlet problem for the harmonic functions in the unit disk with nontangential boundary limits 0 a.e. has the infinite dimension.

An interpolation scheme on an equispaced grid based on the concept of the minimal order of the linear recurrent sequence is proposed in this paper. This interpolation scheme is exact when the number of nodes corresponds to the order of the linear recurrent function. It is shown that it is still possible to construct a nearest mimicking algebraic interpolant if the order of the linear recurrent function does not exist. The proposed interpolation technique can be considered as the extension of the Prony method and can be useful for describing noisy and defected signals.

Classical models of clusters’ fission have failed to fully explain strange phenomenons like the phenomenon of shattering (Ziff et al., 1987) and the sudden appearance of infinitely many particles in some systems with initial finite particles number. Furthermore, the bounded perturbation theorem presented in (Pazy, 1983) is not in general true in solution operators theory for models of fractional order γ (with 0 < γ ≤ 1). In this article, we introduce and study a model that can be understood as the fractional generalization of the clusters’ fission process.We make use of the theory of strongly continuous solution operators for fractional models (analogues of C0-semigroups for classical models) and the subordination principle for fractional evolution equations (Bazhlekova, 2000, Prüss, 1993) to analyze and show existence results for clusters’ splitting model with derivative of fractional order. In the process, we exploit some properties of Mittag-Leffler relaxation function (Berberan-Santos, 2005), the He’s homotopy perturbation (He, 1999) and Kato’s type perturbation (Banasiak, 2006) methods. The Cauchy problem for multiplication operator in the fractional dynamics is first considered, before we perturb it. Some additional concepts like Laplace transform, Hille-Yosida theorem and the dominated convergence theorem are use to finally show that there is a solution operator to the full fractional model that is positive and contractive.

Let G be a group and W a G -set. In this work we prove a result that describes geometrically, for a Poincaré duality pair ( G , W ), the set of representatives for the G -orbits in W and the family of isotropy subgroups. We also prove, through a cohomological invariant, a necessary condition for a pair ( G , W ) to be a Poincaré duality pair when W is infinite.

In this paper, by considering higher-order degenerate Bernoulli and Euler polynomials which were introduced by Carlitz, we investigate some properties of mixed-type of those polynomials. In particular, we give some identities of mixed-type degenerate special polynomials which are derived from the fermionic integrals on Z p and the bosonic integrals on Z p .

In this paper we describe an explicit solution semigroup of the quasi-linear Lasota equation. By constructing the relationship of this solution semigroup with the translation semigroup we obtain some sufficient and necessary conditions for the solution semigroup of the quasi-linear Lasota equation to be hypercyclic or chaotic respectively.

The aim of this paper is to study the solvability of the problem where Ω is a bounded smooth domain of R N , N > 2s, M ε {0, 1}, 0 < s < 1, γ > 0, λ > 0, p > 1 and f is a nonnegative function. We distinguish two cases: – For M = 0, we prove the existence of a solution for every γ > 0 and λ > 0. A1 – For M = 1, we consider f ≡ 1 and we find a threshold ʌ such that there exists a solution for every 0 < λ < ʌ ƒ, and there does not for λ > ʌ ƒ

We consider the existence, both locally and globally in time, the decay and the blow up of the solution for the extensible beam equation with nonlinear damping and source terms. We prove the existence of the solution by Banach contraction mapping principle. The decay estimates of the solution are proved by using Nakao’s inequality. Moreover, under suitable conditions on the initial datum, we prove that the solution blow up in finite time.

The ideal (v 0 ) is known in the literature and is naturally linked to the structure [ω] ω . We consider some natural counterpart of the ideal (v 0 ) related in an analogous way to the structure Dense(ℚ) and investigate its combinatorial properties. By the use of the notion of ideal type we prove that under CH this ideal is isomorphic to (v 0 ).

The main purpose of this paper is to introduce a class of new integrals involving generalized Bessel functions and generalized Struve functions by using operational method and umbral formalization of Ramanujan master theorem. Their connections with trigonometric functions with several distinct complex arguments are also presented.

In this paper, we investigate the boundary value problems of fractional order differential equations with not instantaneous impulse. By some fixed-point theorems, the existence results of mild solution are established. At last, one example is also given to illustrate the results.

Let G be a group with identity e. Let R be a G-graded commutative ring and M a graded R-module. In this paper, we introduce the concept of graded P-compactly packed modules and we give a number of results concerning such graded modules. In fact, our objective is to investigate graded P-compactly packed modules and examine in particular when graded R-modules are P-compactly packed. Finally, we introduce the concept of graded finitely P-compactly packed modules and give a number of its properties.

We classify 3-braid links which are amphicheiral as unoriented links, including a new proof of Birman- Menasco’s result for the (orientedly) amphicheiral 3-braid links. Then we classify the partially invertible 3-braid links.

The nonlocal boundary value problems for linear and nonlinear degenerate abstract differential equations of arbitrary order are studied. The equations have the variable coefficients and small parameters in principal part. The separability properties for linear problem, sharp coercive estimates for resolvent, discreetness of spectrum and completeness of root elements of the corresponding differential operator are obtained. Moreover, optimal regularity properties for nonlinear problem is established. In application, the separability and spectral properties of nonlocal boundary value problem for the system of degenerate differential equations of infinite order is derived.

In this paper we prove a non-existence of real hypersurfaces in complex hyperbolic two-plane Grassmannians SU 2.m /S(U 2 ·U m ), m≥3, whose structure tensors {ɸ i } i =1,2,3 commute with the shape operator.

Using bosonization approach, the N=1 supersymmetric Burgers (SB) system is changed to a system of coupled bosonic equations. The difficulties caused by intractable anticommuting fermionic fields can be effectively avoided with the approach. By solving the coupled bosonic equations, the traveling wave solutions of the SB system can be obtained with the mapping and deformation method. Besides, the richness of the localized excitations of the supersymmetric integrable system is discovered. In the meanwhile, the similarity reduction solutions of the SB system are also studied with the Lie point symmetries theory.

We prove that every 3-generalized metric space is metrizable. We also show that for any ʋ with ʋ ≥ 4, not every ʋ-generalized metric space has a compatible symmetric topology.

In this paper, we introduce the definition of restrictable Lie-Rinehart algebras, the concept of restrictability is by far more tractable than that of a restricted Lie-Rinehart algebra. Moreover, we obtain some properties of p-mappings and restrictable Lie-Rinehart algebras. Finally, we give some sufficient conditions for the commutativity of quasi-toral restricted Lie-Rinehart algebras and study how a quasi-toral restricted Lie-Rinehart algebra with zero center and of minimal dimension should be.

Recently, an interest is developed in estimating genus of the zero-divisor graph of a ring. In this note we investigate genera of graphs of a class of zero-divisor rings (a ring in which every element is a zero divisor). We call a ring R to be right absorbing if for a; b in R, ab is not 0, then ab D a. We first show that right absorbing rings are generalized right Klein 4-rings of characteristic two and that these are non-commutative zero-divisor local rings. The zero-divisor graph of such a ring is proved to be precisely the union of a complete graph and a complete bipartite graph. Finally, we have estimated lower and upper bounds of the genus of such a ring.

In this article we prove a reverse Hölder inequality for the fundamental eigenfunction of the Dirichlet problem on domains of a compact Riemannian manifold with lower Ricci curvature bounds. We also prove an isoperimetric inequality for the torsional ridigity of such domains

Let {X n n n ≥ 1} and {Y n , n ≥ 1} be two sequences of uniform random variables. We obtain various strong and weak laws of large numbers for the ratio of these two sequences. Even though these are uniform and naturally bounded random variables the ratios are not bounded and have an unusual behaviour creating Exact Strong Laws.

Using the concept of ɵ-pairs of proper subgroups of a finite group, we obtain some critical conditions of the supersolvability and nilpotency of finite groups.

Some new criteria for identifying H-tensors are obtained. As an application, some sufficient conditions of the positive definiteness for an even-order real symmetric tensor are given. Advantages of results obtained are illustrated by numerical examples.

A Hom-structure on a Lie algebra (g,[,]) is a linear map σ W g σ g which satisfies the Hom-Jacobi identity: [σ(x), [y,z]] + [σ(y), [z,x]] + [σ(z),[x,y]] = 0 for all x; y; z ∈ g. A Hom-structure is referred to as multiplicative if it is also a Lie algebra homomorphism. This paper aims to determine explicitly all the Homstructures on the finite-dimensional semi-simple Lie algebras over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. As a Hom-structure on a Lie algebra is not necessarily a Lie algebra homomorphism, the method developed for multiplicative Hom-structures by Jin and Li in [J. Algebra 319 (2008): 1398–1408] does not work again in our case. The critical technique used in this paper, which is completely different from that in [J. Algebra 319 (2008): 1398– 1408], is that we characterize the Hom-structures on a semi-simple Lie algebra g by introducing certain reduction methods and using the software GAP. The results not only improve the earlier ones in [J. Algebra 319 (2008): 1398– 1408], but also correct an error in the conclusion for the 3-dimensional simple Lie algebra sl2. In particular, we find an interesting fact that all the Hom-structures on sl2 constitute a 6-dimensional Jordan algebra in the usual way.

We establish in this paper some Jensen’s type inequalities for functions defined by power series with nonnegative coefficients. Applications for functions of selfadjoint operators on complex Hilbert spaces are provided as well.

In BL-algebras we introduce the concept of generalized co-annihilators as a generalization of coannihilator and the set of the form x -1 F where F is a filter, and study basic properties of generalized co-annihilators. We also introduce the notion of involutory filters relative to a filter F and prove that the set of all involutory filters relative to a filter with respect to the suit operations is a complete Boolean lattice and BL-algebra. We use the technology of generalized co-annihilators to give characterizations of prime filters and minimal prime filters, respectively. In particular, we give a representation of co-annihilators in the quotient algebra of a BL-algebra L via a filter F by means of generalized co-annihilators relative to F in L:

We find linear relations among the Fourier coefficients of modular forms for the group Г 0 + (p) of genus zero. As an application of these linear relations, we derive congruence relations satisfied by the Fourier coefficients of normalized Hecke eigenforms.

Let A be a Banach algebra, E be a Banach A-bimodule and Δ E → A be a bounded Banach A-bimodule homomorphism. It is shown that under some mild conditions, the weakΔ''-amenability of E'' (as an A''-bimodule) necessitates weak Δ-amenability of E (as an A-bimodule). Some examples of weak-amenable Banach modules are provided as well.

In the paper we show that net weight and conet weight equal each other in any complemented ditopological space, and investigate under which conditions pseudo character and copseudo character equal each other. We give some important results “bounding" the set Q of all q-sets in (a particular subclass of) the class of all ditopological texture spaces.

In this paper, the boundedness properties for some Toeplitz type operators associated to the Riesz potential and general integral operators from Lebesgue spaces to Orlicz spaces are proved. The general integral operators include singular integral operator with general kernel, Littlewood-Paley operator, Marcinkiewicz operator and Bochner-Riesz operator.

Let SH be the class of functions f = h+g that are harmonic univalent and sense-preserving in the open unit disk U = { z : |z| < 1} for which f (0) = f'(0)-1=0. In this paper, we introduce and study a subclass H( α, β) of the class SH and the subclass NH( α, β) with negative coefficients. We obtain basic results involving sufficient coefficient conditions for a function in the subclass H( α, β) and we show that these conditions are also necessary for negative coefficients, distortion bounds, extreme points, convolution and convex combinations. In this paper an attempt has also been made to discuss some results that uncover some of the connections of hypergeometric functions with a subclass of harmonic univalent functions.

We define the concept of module Connes amenability for dual Banach algebras which are also Banach modules with a compatible action. We distinguish a closed subhypergroup K0 of a locally compact measured hypergroup K, and show that, under different actions, amenability of K, M.K0/-module Connes amenability of M.K/, and existence of a normal M.K0/-module virtual diagonal are related.

In this paper we solve three open problems and a conjecture related to the calculations of some classes of multiple series posed by Furdui in [1].

In this manuscript we find another class of real Banach spaces which admit vector-valued Banach limits different from the classes found in [6, 7]. We also characterize the separating subsets of ℓ ∞ (X). For this we first need to study when the space of almost convergent sequences is closed in the space of bounded sequences, which turns out to happen only when the underlying space is complete. Finally, a study on the extremal structure of the set of vector-valued Banach limits is conducted when the underlying normed space is a Hilbert space.We also reach the conclusion that the set of vector-valued Banach limits is not a convex component of B CL(ℓ ∞ (X),X) , provided that X is a 1-injective Banach space satisfying that the underlying compact Hausdorff topological space has isolated points.

The theory of Schur complement plays an important role in many fields, such as matrix theory and control theory. In this paper, applying the properties of Schur complement, some new estimates of diagonally dominant degree on the Schur complement of I(II)-block strictly diagonally dominant matrices and I(II)-block strictly doubly diagonally dominant matrices are obtained, which improve some relative results in Liu [Linear Algebra Appl. 435(2011) 3085-3100]. As an application, we present several new eigenvalue inclusion regions for the Schur complement of matrices. Finally, we give a numerical example to illustrate the advantages of our derived results.

In this study, we introduce a new class of function called geodesic semi E-b-vex functions and generalized geodesic semi E-b-vex functions and discuss some of their properties.

Relating to the crucial problem of branch switching, the calculation of codimension 2 bifurcation points is one of the major issues in numerical bifurcation analysis. In this paper, we focus on the double Hopf points for delay differential equations and analyze in detail the corresponding eigenspace, which enable us to obtain the finite dimensional defining system of equations of such points, instead of an infinite dimensional one that happens naturally for delay systems. We show that the double Hopf point, together with the corresponding eigenvalues, eigenvectors and the critical values of the bifurcation parameters, is a regular solution of the finite dimensional defining system of equations, and thus can be obtained numerically through applying the classical iterative methods. We show our theoretical findings by a numerical example.

In this paper, we establish certain spaces of generalized functions for a class of ɛ s 2,1 transforms. We give the definition and derive certain properties of the extended ɛ s 2,1 transform in a context of Boehmian spaces. The extended ɛ s 2,1 transform is therefore well defined, linear and consistent with the classical ɛ s 2,1 transforms. Certain results are also established in some detail.

We study, in a Hilbert framework, some abstract parabolic variational inequalities, governed by reflecting subgradients with multiplicative perturbation, of the following type: y´(t)+ Ay(t)+0.t Θ(t,y(t)) ∂φ(y(t))∋f(t,y(t)),y(0) = y 0 ,t ∈[0,T] where A is a linear self-adjoint operator, ∂φ is the subdifferential operator of a proper lower semicontinuous convex function φ defined on a suitable Hilbert space, and Θ is the perturbing term which acts on the set of reflecting directions, destroying the maximal monotony of the multivalued term. We provide the existence of a solution for the above Cauchy problem. Our evolution equation is accompanied by examples which aim to (systems of) PDEs with perturbed reflection.

Recently, the conformable derivative and its properties have been introduced. In this work we have investigated in more detail some new properties of this derivative and we have proved some useful related theorems. Also, some new definitions have been introduced.

In this paper, we introduce a new concept of (α, φ) g -contractive type mappings and establish coupled coincidence and coupled common fixed point theorems for such mappings in partially ordered G-metric spaces. The results on fixed point theorems are generalizations of some existing results.We also give some examples to illustrate the usability of the obtained results.

In this paper, we introduce a new image encryption scheme based on fractional chaotic time series, in which shuffling the positions blocks of plain-image and changing the grey values of image pixels are combined to confuse the relationship between the plain-image and the cipher-image. Also, the experimental results demonstrate that the key space is large enough to resist the brute-force attack and the distribution of grey values of the encrypted image has a random-like behavior.

We define some new numerical invariants for knots with zero winding number in the solid torus. These invariants explore some geometric features of knots embedded in the solid torus. We characterize these invariants and interpret them on the level of the knot projection. We also find some relations among some of these invariants. Moreover, we give lower bounds for some of these invariants using Vassiliev invariants of type one. We connect our invariants to the bridge number in the solid torus. We give a lower bound and an upper bound of the wrap of a knot in the solid torus in terms of our new invariants.

In this paper, we give some new characterizations of orthodox semigroups in terms of the set of inverses of idempotents. As a generalization, a new class of regular semigroups, namely V n -semigroups, is introduced. Also, we give a characterization of V n -semigroups and investigate some properties of V n -semigroups. Furthermore, we show that the class of V n -semigroups is closed under direct products and homomorphic images. However, regular subsemigroups of V n -semigroups (n ≥ 2) are not necessarily V n -semigroups in general. Therefore, the class of V n -semigroups (n ≥ 2) does not form an e-variety. Finally, we obtain that a E-solid semigroup S is a V 2 -semigroup if and only if S is orthodox.

In the present article we define W-paths of elements in a W-perfect group as a useful tools and obtain their basic properties.

An n by n skew-symmetric type (-1; 1)-matrix K =[k i;j ] has 1’s on the main diagonal and ±1’s elsewhere with k i;j =-k j;i . The largest possible determinant of such a matrix K is an interesting problem. The literature is extensive for n ≡ 0 mod 4 (skew-Hadamard matrices), but for n ≡ 2 mod 4 there are few results known for this question. In this paper we approach this problem constructing cocyclic matrices over the dihedral group of 2t elements, for t odd, which are equivalent to (-1; 1)-matrices of skew type. Some explicit calculations have been done up to t =11. To our knowledge, the upper bounds on the maximal determinant in orders 18 and 22 have been improved.

For an n x m real matrix A the matrix A ⊥ is defined as a matrix spanning the orthocomplement of the column space of A, when the orthogonality is defined with respect to the standard inner product ⟨x, y⟩ = x'y. In this paper we collect together various properties of the ⊥ operation and its applications in linear statistical models. Results covering the more general inner products are also considered. We also provide a rather extensive list of references

In this paper, we present two new algebraic algorithms for the solution of the discrete algebraic Riccati equation. The first algorithm requires the nonsingularity of the transition matrix and is based on the solution of a standard eigenvalue problem for a new symplectic matrix; the proposed algorithm computes the extreme solutions of the discrete algebraic Riccati equation. The second algorithm solves the Riccati equation without the assumption of the nonsingularity of the transition matrix; the proposed algorithm is based on the solution of the matrix equation X + A*X -1 A=L, where A is a singular matrix and L a positive definite matrix.

In this paper we present a nonsingularity result which is a generalization of Nekrasov property by using two different permutations of the index set. The main motivation comes from the following observation: matrices that are Nekrasov matrices up to the same permutations of rows and columns, are nonsingular. But, testing all the permutations of the index set for the given matrix is too expensive. So, in some cases, our new nonsingularity criterion allows us to use the results already calculated in order to conclude that the given matrix is nonsingular. Also, we present new max-norm bounds for the inverse matrix and illustrate these results by numerical examples, comparing the results to some already known bounds for Nekrasov matrices.

We will discuss orthogonal models and error orthogonal models and their algebraic structure, using as background, commutative Jordan algebras. The role of perfect families of symmetric matrices will be emphasized, since they will play an important part in the construction of the estimators for the relevant parameters. Perfect families of symmetric matrices form a basis for the commutative Jordan algebra they generate. When normality is assumed, these perfect families of symmetric matrices will ensure that the models have complete and sufficient statistics. This will lead to uniformly minimum variance unbiased estimators for the relevant parameters.

Consider the Hilbert space (H,〈• , •〉) equipped with the indefinite inner product[u,v]=v*J u,u,v∈ H, where J is an indefinite self-adjoint involution acting on H. The Krein space numerical range W J (T) of an operator T acting on H is the set of all the values attained by the quadratic form [Tu,u], with u ∈H satisfying [u,u]=± 1. We develop, implement and test an alternative algorithm to compute W J (T) in the finite dimensional case, constructing 2 by 2 matrix compressions of T and their easily determined elliptical and hyperbolical numerical ranges. The numerical results reported here indicate that this method is very efficient, since it is faster and more accurate than either of the existing algorithms. Further, it may yield easy solutions for the inverse indefinite numerical range problem. Our algorithm uses an idea of Marcus and Pesce from 1987 for generating Hilbert space numerical ranges of matrices of size n.

We present new iterative methods for solving the Sylvester equation belonging to the class of SOR-like methods, based on the SOR (Successive Over-Relaxation) method for solving linear systems. We discuss convergence characteristics of the methods. Numerical experimentation results are included, illustrating the theoretical results and some other noteworthy properties of the Methods.

We study the problem of computing the maximal and minimal possible eigenvalues of a symmetric matrix when the matrix entries vary within compact intervals. In particular, we focus on computational complexity of determining these extremal eigenvalues with some approximation error. Besides the classical absolute and relative approximation errors, which turn out not to be suitable for this problem, we adapt a less known one related to the relative error, and also propose a novel approximation error. We show in which error factors the problem is polynomially solvable and in which factors it becomes NP-hard.

In this paper we present some results from the theory of fractional integration operators (of Marichev- Saigo-Maeda type) involving the Mittag-Leffler type function with four parameters ζ , γ, E μ, ν [z] which has been recently introduced by Garg et al. Some interesting special cases are given to fractional integration operators involving some Special functions.

In this paper, we apply the Fractional Adams-Bashforth-Moulton Method for obtaining the numerical solutions of some linear and nonlinear fractional ordinary differential equations. Then, we construct a table including numerical results for both fractional differential equations. Then, we draw two dimensional surfaces of numerical solutions and analytical solutions by considering the suitable values of parameters. Finally, we use the L 2 nodal norm and L ∞ maximum nodal norm to evaluate the accuracy of method used in this paper.

A finite difference numerical method is investigated for fractional order diffusion problems in one space dimension. The basis of the mathematical model and the numerical approximation is an appropriate extension of the initial values, which incorporates homogeneous Dirichlet or Neumann type boundary conditions. The wellposedness of the obtained initial value problem is proved and it is pointed out that each extension is compatible with the original boundary conditions. Accordingly, a finite difference scheme is constructed for the Neumann problem using the shifted Grünwald–Letnikov approximation of the fractional order derivatives, which is based on infinite many basis points. The corresponding matrix is expressed in a closed form and the convergence of an appropriate implicit Euler scheme is proved.

The study of coupled system of hybrid fractional differential equations (HFDEs) needs the attention of scientists for the exploration of its different important aspects. Our aim in this paper is to study the existence and uniqueness of mild solution (EUMS) of a coupled system of HFDEs. The novelty of this work is the study of a coupled system of fractional order hybrid boundary value problems (HBVP) with n initial and boundary hybrid conditions. For this purpose, we are utilizing some classical results, Leray–Schauder Alternative (LSA) and Banach Contraction Principle (BCP). Some examples are given for the illustration of applications of our results.

The third-order differential subordination and the corresponding differential superordination problems for a new linear operator convoluted the fractional integral operator with the Carlson-Shaffer operator, are investigated in this study. The new operator satisfies the required first-order differential recurrence (identity) relation. This property employs the subordination and superordination methodology. Some classes of admissible functions are determined, and these significant classes are exploited to obtain fractional differential subordination and superordination results. The new third-order differential sandwich-type outcomes are investigated in subsequent research.

In this article, we impose some studies with applications for generalized integral operators for normalized holomorphic functions. By using the further extension of the extended Gauss hypergeometric functions, new subclasses of analytic functions containing extended Noor integral operator are introduced. Some characteristics of these functions are imposed, involving coefficient bounds and distortion theorems. Further, sufficient conditions for subordination and superordination are illustrated.

In this paper, we investigate the solution of the fractional vibration equation, where the damping term is characterized by means of the Caputo fractional derivative with the order α satisfying 0 < α < 1 or 1 < α < 2. Detailed analysis for the fundamental solution y(t) is carried out through the Laplace transform and its complex inversion integral formula. We conclude that y(t) is ultimately positive, and ultimately decreases monotonically and approaches zero for the case of 0 < α < 1, while y(t) is ultimately negative, and ultimately increases monotonically and approaches zero for the case of 1 < α < 2. We also consider the number of zeros, the maximum zero and the maximum extreme point of the fundamental solution y(t) for specified values of the coefficients and fractional order.

We provide a mathematical analysis of a break-up model with the newly developed Caputo-Fabrizio fractional order derivative with no singular kernel, modeling rock fracture in the ecosystem. Recall that rock fractures play an important role in ecological and geological events, such as groundwater contamination, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Hence, in the theory of rock division, especially in eco-geology, open problems like phenomenon of shattering, which remains partially unexplained by classical models of clusters’ fragmentation, is believed to be associated with an infinite cascade of breakup events creating a ‘dust’ of stone particles of zero size which, however, carry non-zero mass. In the analysis, we consider the case where the break-up rate depends of the size of the rock breaking up. Both exact solutions and numerical simulations are provided. They clearly prove that, even with this latest derivative with fractional order and no singular kernel, the system describing crushing and grinding of rocks contains (partially) duplicated fractional poles. According to previous investigations, this is an expected result that provides the new Caputo-Fabrizio derivative with a precious and promising recognition.

In this paper we study existence and uniqueness of solutions for a system consisting from fractional differential equations of Riemann-Liouville type subject to nonlocal Erdélyi-Kober fractional integral conditions. The existence and uniqueness of solutions is established by Banach’s contraction principle, while the existence of solutions is derived by using Leray-Schauder’s alternative. Examples illustrating our results are also presented.

In this paper we consider the generalized impulsive system with Riemann-Liouville fractional-order q ∈ (1,2) and obtained the error of the approximate solution for this impulsive system by analyzing of the limit case (as impulses approach zero), as well as find the formula for a general solution. Furthermore, an example is given to illustrate the importance of our results.

The symmetry of the Bagley–Torvik equation is investigated by using the Lie group analysis method. The Bagley–Torvik equation in the sense of the Riemann–Liouville derivatives is considered. Then we prove a Noetherlike theorem for fractional Lagrangian densities with the Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative and few examples are presented as an application of the theory.
